I have always used Black Magic Tire Wet to dress my tires but recently decided to try out some Meguiars when the Black Magic ran out because I like all of Meguiars other products. I purchased the Meguiars Hot Shine (trigger spray) and used it last night by apllying it with a foam applicator. This morning I gave them a good look before I left and was not satisfied with the results. The tire does not look quite as glossy just more of a satin black finish. And yes i gave them a good washing before application.

So...... What do you guys like the best?, im thinking i may just go back to Black Magic when the meguiars is gone.

I agree...I havn't found any better than Tire Wet...lasts the longest, gives the best shine, and I prefer not the spray, but the foam applicator for low profile tires so as to not get it on the rims. If anyone knows of anything better, I'd be interested.

I like the Black Magic with applicator myself:) I was told not to use the Armoral? tire stuff due to the tires cracking after awhile? Not sure if this is tru or not

Anything gel based will give you a much longer nicer shine. The gel actually sticks to the tires and conditions them. Where the spray just covers it and eventually just fades away. Think of it like this. You have dry skin, someone comes by and sprays you with a mist of lotion. After about 10 mins you will have dry skin again. Apply the same lotion and give it a nice rub in and you have conditioned your skin. Same thing with the tires.

I use Megs tire gel. I'm very happy with the results. One coat for that satin look and two for the high gloss. I usually last a couple weeks too.

here's a pic, check my gallary for a few more.

I work for a detail shop and we get 50 gallon drums of tire shine from CarPro. It lasts about a week, but its ok since its free lol. The shine is insane too.

Meguires NXT Insane Shine...I'll never use anything else again.

To the original poster of this...why did you apply it with a foam applicator when it's meant to spray right on? I'm guessing that's why it didn't turn out right...lol

I did the same with the black magic and it always turned out good. I do it so i dont over apply the tire shine and so i dont get over-spray on my wheels.

I did not say it didnt turn out right, I just said I wasnt as pleased as I am with Black Magic. Different products = different results

Eagle One tire shine with the foam applicator. I haven't found anything else that I've liked so far that won't spatter down the side of the car.

Hey,

My favourite so far is Meguiar's Gold Class Endurance gel.

http://www.meguiars.com/estore/products/product_G7410.jpg

Apply it in thin, even layers.

Personally haven't seen anything better looking or longer lasting yet.

you know if you apply it and then let it sit for a bit, it won't splatter all over the car...if you spray it on and drive right away of course it'll splatter.

i was waiting to see if anyone else liked this stuff. i will not use anything else. i have used black magic, and it was crap in my opinion. yea its shiney, way to shiney, looks cheap. i prefer a satin black look, not a clear coated tire look.

The stuff I use is from the dealership I work at, and I'm pretty sure its called Luster Shine. It's solvent based, And works amazing!

x2, thats all that I use. Two coats of it and you get a nice shine that lasts for 2-3 weeks.

I dont like the stuff thats so shiney it makes your tires look clearcoated

I swear by Dupont Teflon tire dressing . Its got the perfect shine , it doesnt build up and it lasts quite awhile .

I prefer using a good quality tire brush and soap to thoroughly clean my tires. I don't really like the "wet" look. Most of my clients love it, so in that case I use a very very light amount of megs tire gel.

I like the Endurance Gel... because you can do just one coat and it's not SUPER shiny!!! I like it to look black not overly glossy!

I've used Eagle One's tire shine for about 7 years now, and love it. I freaked out when the changed the label on the bottle no too long ago fearing it went away!

I used the Dupont Teflon stuff once and gave the bottle to my Uncle. I wasn't too impressed with it's results.

It seems to me that the gel's have a tendency to cause buildup on the tires ive used it on in the past . Ive got a bunch of different stuff and always seem to grab the B/M tire wet.

i doubt ne one has heard of the stuff i use. but it is called jax-wax. there tire dressing is insane. it comes in a clear spray bottle and is blue. i spary it on a applacator pad and apply to my tires. it is very dark and dont leave the tires brown when it wears off and it dont build up eather. if you put two coats it will be very shiney for the people that like that look. i used to use the mequires gel as posted above but found that to kill my soap suds when washing my car. it would even stay in my burshes after i washed them out and kill my new bucket of soap next time i used them

I have tried two kinds: turtle wax platnium series, Armor All Extreme tire shine.. they are both pretty close to each other performance wise.. I would prolly take the turtle wax but it is more expensive.. I posted some pics recently
