JBP

Welcome to the first three installments (of a series of many) promotional videos for our 750SS!!!

As JBP paves' the road for such a unique and extraordinary project, we want to share the majority of the build with the community and publicize the capability of JBP.

An under taking of a project of this magnitude requires a strong team, emphasizing on management, engineering know-how and most of all, a die hard commitment to automotive performance in general.

There's been minimal bumps along the way, but many changes as this dynamic project moves forward.

Enjoy the first few vids guys (click on our banner below to view)... :guns: :ca:

Sweet! Two questions.
#1 How do you plan on making 750 hp?
#2 How how do you plan on making it even remotely streetable, concidering the first ecotec drag racing engine, made 780 hp and it was a full blown, racing engine running 40 lbs of boost on 118 octane gas...

I'll leave the question answering to VRSS, but I can imagine the car having a few selectable tunes that would put it at different power levels. I have a buddy with a procharged mustang that does this. He has three different tunes for the street, strip, and economy that are available at the flick of a switch.

Twin Turbo? on a 4-cyl..? Doubtful. Probably a big-ass single turbo.

Probably a twin turbo with a smaller turbo pushing a bigger turbo.

As Joe mentioned, this is indeed my project, that JBP is doing.
The twin turbo is a smaller turbo feeding the larger, so we can have boost with virtually no lag. If for any reason we are not satisfied with the final results we will reconsider our plan. ;)
The status of the project is to be updated soon but here are some teasers.
JBP is building a jig to test the turbo's and their PSV's, as well as another jig to test the supercooler's abiltity to make radically cool temps for the intercooler/intake manifold, which is in the final design phase now that we have the 9 "Marconova's" (which replace the 4 Laminovas in the stock intercooler)

Unless, perhaps, you have no intention on reusing them and the plan is to drill and re-thread for larger head bolts.:p:

Oh I know the headbolts can't be re-used. But it was my understanding that you could actually damage the head by doing so. At least that's what I learned in school and I was told the same by a couple of machine shop owners.

Yep, you can cause trouble that way. Maybe we should assume that they loosened them in sequence beforehand?

That is likely a fair assumption as Greg (the fellow doing the work) has 25 years of experience under his belt.;)

The rwd conversion has commenced. Once that is complete the car will be up and running and tuned within 5 weeks. Then there will be 3 weeks at Desired Customs for Keith to work his magic.

whats the status on this build???? :)

After having been told the conversion was being done it turns out it wasn't.
The car was then sent to a different shop. The back end is cut and the 4link/ford 9"/adjustable coilover/custom axle kit is on order. The rest of the car is stripped and the chassis is being worked on. A spare engine has been bought and will be used for the positioning and designing of the engine bay/cradle.
The "built" engine is just waiting for the custom crankshaft to be done and then the engine goes back together.
Other specialized parts are being tested while waiting for the crank.
The turbo header will be done was the final engine placement is done so we can maximize the space. The chances are the header will not work for other LSJ's simply because of our turning the engine.
Updates are done regularly in my "RWD" thread.:)
