Actually, I have to agree with you. I don't like the stock SS wheels either. However, have you seen the the new HHR? Exactly the same wheel as the 2006 SS 2.4.

I prefer the rims I got on my LS when I bought it in May vs the ones that shipped on the non-SS later in the year. I saw one loaded like mine but the rims were totally different...wasn't a huge fan of them. I do prefer my LS rims over the stock SS ones as well...not that they look all that bad but I think 18 was a little much (of course just my opinion )

Are the ones that you've seen the 5 solid pieces or do they have a vertical slit between each one (wow my description is SO clear I don't know how you couldn't know what I'm talking about). Instead I'll just point you to two pics to make life easier . The featured car on the front page are the ones like mine...the link below will HOPEFULLY work...you might have to have an account for the site, not sure though let me know.

Other Rims...Seen Very Few

I think the ones from the link look nice but only with certain colours...guess the same goes for mine. As I said just my opinion .

I think those are actually the ones they started putting on the ones made later in the year...I'd have to look into it more though. I saw them on an LS just like mine (silver) and it just wasn't workin for me. I've seen them on an orange and blue one as well (in addition to the pic) and it seems to work well on those colours in particular. If you design the car on GMCanada's site a little graphic is shown with those ones so that seems to be what they're coming with now so it could even be a Canada specific thing too since there are a few differences between the US and CA versions.

I like the ones that came on mine, they're just more my style, but GM seems to be doing a good job all around with the rims they're shipping on the cars SS or not...I was really surprised how they looked the day I picked up my car.

They look like the rims on the 2004 Cavalier

They are not exactly the same but share the same 5 spoke design.

It looks like the Cobalt in that pic has the sports package on it...I'm not 100% sure but I see the spoiler and fascias on the mirrors. I'd be interested to figure out when Chevy either started putting those ones on or if it is a decision the dealers can make which isn't an option when building the car online (I'll check the build date on mine tomorrow I forget exactly when it was). I'm saying that because my loaded LS coupe came with the solid 5 spoke design, but the one I saw the other day was also a loaded LS (well at least had sport appearance and leather interior) but it had the non-solid versions.

im pretty sure the ones in the pic are the 15 inch rims, that come w/out the sport package. the solid ones are the ones with the sport package, because that's the ones i have. my friend has a blue LS w/out sport package and he has the rims from the pic

If you think those look better than the SS wheels your crazy. The SS wheels look aftermarket. Everyone who has seen my car and asked me about the wheels doesn't believe that they are stock. I personally like them.

I think that the big picture hear is that the current rims on the SS are disigned to handel the power. the Others are not. This came for a Dealer when I asked him the same questions because I like bling (shinny rims). Since then I realy like the SS rims. They are easy to clean and look grate on my black cobalt. Most everone give me props for the rims too.

No chance in hell.

They are the same, only different size, SS/SC is 18" while the SS/NA has 17" wheels. Same style.

Actually the standard SS looks like they are chrome or something. They are a lot shinier than the SS/SC wheels. The SS/SC looks like they are painted some gunmetal color
