Isn't the Astra supposed to be an Opel? That has Saturn badges on it. Anyway, it reminds me of the Caliber but not as ugly.

Edit: just read the article. Astra is European, but just added to the Saturn line up.

Pretty sure everyone should get the turbo 2.0 when it comes out.

I think that this will be GM's turbo car while the cobalt hopefully will stay supercharged.

your making a leap there...just because they share displcements?

It makes 140hp (opr is it 145?) One of the 2.

Fine for base engine but they are gonna need some optional engines to compete--like the 2.4L

im sure we could retrofit those into the cobalt, the astra is essentialy the same as the cobalt.. what i am really curious to see is if those headlights will fit, they look like they might.

The guage faces are backwards . The numerals look to be in same spot ....definately would be a custom job . Stuff like the ODO and DIC would not be compatible so u could make the cluster as whole work . The saturn version backlights with orange and white LED's like the Aura and the Outlook . You could have Blackcatcustom.com do a guage face like that for the cobalt , and paint your chrome rings and center caps on the needles bright silver . It would be about the only way to practically duplicate that . Their customs prices arent ridiculously expensive and that simple graphic would be easy to duplicate .

The headlights are similar , but not the same shape . You could adapt the inner bezel , projectors and marker lights though in the cobalt housing . I have wanted to do this FOREVER , but have never found affordable used headlights . In Europe the projectors in this headlight are HID and are adaptive(they turn around corners ) so they are really expensive . The US version looks the same , but with a Halogen projector and they are not adaptive . So cool they'll be ALOT more affordable and bummer youd still need to source a HID projector .

i saw on Top Speed that the performance Astra has a Turbo DI 2.0L with 240 bhp, probably a watered down version of the LNF

everyone remember that huge thread with the "proof of cobalt turbo"

it showed a page where the LNF engine was slated for a GM small car.......and everyone thought they meant the cobalt.....
