Don't Buy Injen Products

Hey guys. I have an Injen CAI on my 2006 2.0 ss/sc.

I installed it properly as specified, and it was working great...

Until I noted a hole being worn out of the top of the intake. I emailed Injen twice... once two months ago, and once two weeks ago, and have heard nothing back.

I have heard nothing but bad things about Injen's products for our cars, and their bad customer service.

Anyone else have this problem, and how did you deal with it? Thanks.

A friend of mine had thet problem where the hood of the car was rubbing a hole in the intake tube. All it was is that he didnt have it seated down far enough so it didnt rub. I know they gave me good customer service when I needed it.

I havn't had any problems with mine at all! Do you have the injen logo ontop of the tube with a small indent or is it located a little lower on the side?

This has been a on going prob with Ijen CAI. I made used a rubber hose cut in half and solved the problem. The second gen injen intake is also designed not to wear where the hood would of touched the first gen intake. Other then that, I think its the best intake on the market atm. Fujita is the other good choice IMO.

Never had any problems with mine on either cobalt.

Installation was a giant pain in the testies on the SS/SC, but have had no on going problem such as rubbing or poor performance.

the new models now come with a rubber spacer used with the other mounting materials to prevent the rubbing issue. I think they also changed the bracket a little as well. I don't know of anyone that has had a problem with the new model and the people i know with the older version have been able to get an exchange for the new one.

yeah man you have the old one then, as far as I know the new versions have the injen plate on top of the curve but it has a little indent. Check my little camera off to the side I have a pic of it in there.

I had one of the first Injen intakes for my 04 cavi. They CLAIMED it was the correct one for the car, it wasn't! And the speed shop I bought it from refused to return it sighting that Injen said it was correct.

I won't buy ANYTHING from them every again!

I had one also but I also had probs with my it would rub against the side where the pipe goes down into the wheel well, actually had a slit cut right into it. No matter how many times I adjusted it to fit right it would keep rubbing against the side. I went with an aem cai best choice yet plus it uses a dry flow so def no cel. Plus replacement is easierwhen changing filters just have to do it from the top instead of removing the tire and wheel well covering and all only have to do that when you take out the factory intake, plus I like the idea of no one really knowing you have cai unless you tell them since it uses part of the factory hose (gotta love stealth performance)

I would call them most definetly man, email can take a very long time considering they probably have huge amounts of it.

I have one question not to jack this thread but any 07' guys running the injen cai? and is it the same part number as the 05-06' ?

I had a question, how long would it take for the MAF to get dirty? Can it mess the readings of the MAF? Anyone know the part # for a AEM filter only? or other type of filter that would do the same job as AEM
