Tirerack sells steelies for our cars. As far as slicks, you need either:
- 29"x9"x16" (Hoosier QTP) or
-225/50/16 BFG Drag T/A

Depending on whether the dimensions are standard or metric.

R33P3R007, where did you get those tires again and how much did they cost? I have the beefy drivetrain awaiting install, so I'll be able to use that badass setup you have going on as well.

Did you have to use tubes inside the tires as well? Thanks!

You dont need to run tubes at all Bill . Summit or Jegs is probably gonna be the best bet on pricing . Ive never found slicks Ive bought cheaper elsewhere anyways .

I put in the Malibu since it has the smae bolt pattern as well. Since the other sport editions are sold out, this is the next lightest and cheapest 16x7 wheel.

SilverSS/SC, thanks for that info. It just made that future purchase easier! I just have to get the new tranny, axles, and clutch into the car first!

I just wanted to point out that you should be able to get away with a smaller tire becuase 9.5 is quite big. Also, if you can run a 15" rim using a spacer or changing the caliper it would be better. IMHO 26x8.5x15 or a 24.5x8.5x15 Is a better choice for the SS power range, and even that is above what these cars really need. Keep in mind these tires grow when you move and the wrong tire can hurt your top end, and you could spend more money then you need to. Also, check out MandH tires before you buy anything, they used to be a sponsor, dont know about now.

I TOTALLY agree All you need to do for 15 rims is grind the calipers a bit . When I get slicks this spring they will be the 15x8 centerlines with a 26x8.5 , die-grinder is ready . I cant believe no one has done this yet . PathSS and Rob are the only ones I can think of that was even talking about it .

Someone already has ground down the calipers for 15's. They took pictures of it too. I just am not a huge fan of grinding the calipers down. Does anyone know how much needs to be taken off?
