front lip SS/SC

does anyone have an idea what its going to cost me to replace the front lip of my bumper? this weekend hiding in a snow drift was a huge iceblock. it broke the very bottom of my bumper in half right in the center. its the skinny piece right below the lower opening(where you see the intercooler/ac) any ideas would be appreciated

Call Crate Engine Depot at 800-441-5150 and they'll quote you the price -- no guessing!

If the lip is the only thing damaged then you only need to replace the lip. There are a couple of threads by owners who purchased just the lip for their base SS facia.

A jackrabbit killed mine more than a year ago. Cost me around $130 for my local body shop to purchase and paint a new one for me. I saved on some cost by installing it myself.
Takes about 15 min to install.

ok good. so the very bottom of the bumper is one piece and i dont need a whole new front bumper? for some reason i was thinking it would be a lot more expensive than that.

just so everyone knows. the piece i broke is the one where youre looking at the heatexchanger/radiator the bottom piece that finishes the hole which you can see that stuff through.

ill try and get a pic soon.

did you get any quotes on what a new oem bumper would cost? which body kit did you get?

well i just got back from my girlfriends fathers auto body shop and the damages are quite severe.

for the oem bumper (i need it) 350 bucks
for the lower lip on the bumper 235 bucks
for a nice grand total of 1093 dollars including labor and paint

so im going to go the cheaper route and find either a bumper on ebay or from someone on here. anyone got any black SS bumpers and/lower lips??

The thread "help from the parts department" has the part numbers and costs for the base SS front bumper/facia. Your local GM dealer sells it for $267 retail, $200 trade if you can talk them into it.

He is correct. I Manage a collision center and $267 is the cost of just the lip. Htat does not include tax, installation, paint, or any necessary hardware.

Go to www.car-part.com and see if they might have a used one for you. I use that site all the time.
