well i went in for the recall it took roughly 20 minutes... the service guy did his deal where he says " ull get a flyer in the mail anything less then all 4's and i fail.. please give me all 4's" well i was wondering if the injector change would help or hinder my mpg.. so i reset everything and im not kidding you im getting 36.9 av. mpg going 75-80 ish... it was a total shocker " not the 2 in the pink... type" i dont know if its just me who has found this but i was truely impressed...

anythoughts?

The recall is for 2.2's, I believe the '05 to '06 models under certain VIN #'s

i noticed a bit of improvement as well but nothing enormous but i do mostly city driving. My increases are around 2 or 3 mpg

 

i noticed it right off the bat... i was like holy cow... this has got to be wrong it was about 4-5 mpg better then befor..

your was probably a set going bad. I hope mine improves, i get roughly 21mpg and thats never passing 3.5k rpm

 

I have the S/C and I get about 33 most of the time and have gotten a best of 41.

If your only getting 21 mpg theres something wrong with your car if you have the 2.2L
That or you have an auto car and beat the poo out of it. But it dosnt sound like you have an auto or you beat on it. I would take it to the dealer and see what they say about it.

That might be bc it requires more gas for us to get up to speed if we accelerate quickly, like i do, it takes far less in the s/c

This is probably because they unplugged the battery to do the work and reset your computer. Give your computer a little while to relearn your driving habits and see if your MPG stays the same.
Obviously if all you do now is Highway miles, you'll get higher. But if you drive around town with a heavy foot, it'll drop back down to 28 or so MPG

 

they didnt unplugg my battery.. they didnt rest my computer.... everything was the same as it was when i got out of my car..." even the 3 dollars above my visor" so thats wrong....

i did rest my mpg and put on about 80 or so miles

mixed driving city/hwy and i averaged 34 ish

 

uhhh damn guys.. i get around 24mpg (city) if i drive real easy.. (shifting at 2, sometimes 3).. I have a 2.2L LS... except mines a 2007.

 

They didn't unplug your battery to work on the engine fuel system?????
If that's true I would NOT take my car back to them for ANYTHING! that's just nucking futs.

but if you do reset you Mileage meter on the interstate, it will show a much higher MPG. I do that on my SS and I'll be getting 32 MPG on the interstate, but as soon as I get off it will drop to around 27 or 28.
Try resetting it while driving around town some day. You sound like you do more than an average amount of highway driving so you probably will get better mileage than most people.

dude its a matter of disconnecting you injectors un bolting them putting the new ones in why would you unplugg the battery..

It's your fuel system with gasoline in it....gasoline is a highly combustable substance......A battery makes electricity......

We're not talking about refilling the windshield washer fluid here. A good mechanic could probably do this job 1,000 times and never have a fire, but a smart mechanic will never give it the chance of happening,
Don't say something like. " Cars are designed not to have fires like this." or whatever. If it's made by people, it can screw up, no matter how many safety features are installed.
Just ask any of the previous residents at Three Mile Island.

 

yea its a recall on the injecters call up your dealership and ask if you eligable its on VIN F cars only thru certain numbers.

 

when they fix it what do they do exactly? my cars been running 2 years without any problems. i rather not fix something thats not broken yet
