What u guys think of kuhmos tires

HERES THE STORY:
I was going to get my stock rims powdercoated black because a place around here does em for 20 a piece so i figured hey this is a awesome deal but my tires on them 1 has a nail and the others lets just say i like the smell of pirellis when there being spun. the other 2 are in great shape. (THEY JUST CAME ALONG FOR THE RIDE) do u guys think i should just buy theese http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....speed_rating=Y or just buy 2 oem replacement tires.

Every Kuhmo I used I thought sucked. Basicly its the cheaper of the performance tires. Even the top of the line Kuhmos spin. They are better than the stockers though.

I considered those tires for my ss/sc but I ended getting the general's exclaims uhp from tire rack and I'm more than happy with those. The UHP's were the highest rated! And they want 180 canadian each for them here. So I got the from tire rack. I have heard only good things about the kumho so if you like those, your better off than oem.

I've used Ecsta ASX's before on another car.
They weren't bad at all for the price, however they kinda suck when it's below freezing until they warm up. Feels like you're driving on square tires for a bit. They're also fairly noisy tires. They are okay tires, just don't expect the quality you are getting from some $180 a piece BFG's.

I can't hear my tires over the blower whine anyway

I had Kuhmo's on my old mustang...loved em. May be a slight step down from the Pzero Rossos, but most tires are. And for under half the price of the OEM tires, it's a win win. They're also a really good looking tire. Just don't expect them to last much longer than the OEM's.

I've had three sets of Kumho's, two sets of Ecsta Supra 712's (which I believe the SPT's replaced) and a set of the Kumho MX. The 712's were probably the best tire for the money and did pretty well in the rain for performance tires. I've always been hard on my tires and they held up decently well during auto-x and road racing. My last set I decided to step up a little and bought the MX's which had a lot more grip than the 712's. I only auto-xd on them once, what a great tire. I ended up taking 2 trips from NJ to FL with those tires and they were great on noise and wear. In fact about 5k miles later they still look brand new. They will be going on the Cobalt once the stockers quit.

I had a set of ECSTAs on my Camaro. I wasn't really impressed with their grip (especially on cold days), but those things lasted a looonnnggg time and were pretty inexpensive. For a daily driver, they work fine, but for a serious performer, consider a better tire (even another, higher-rated Kuhmo).

I've had ECSTA' s supra 712 before, a good tire... I think they would not provide the traction needed for SC's
I also had SPT's... I loved them .... that's whats going on my SC after I toast the Pirellis!!!

my buddy had MX's on a 944T.... he loved them

another buddy has the ASX on a Z3....he doesnt like them

^ exactly. My Camaro did not perform very well with the top of the line Kuhmos. If money is a issue they are a good every day driver and a little bit better then the stockers.
