Dyno numbers

I dynoed yesterday on a superflow dyno and got 125 whp and 127 whtq. What numbers are other people putting down?

That looks about right. My 2.4 Auto just did 133.8 HP, 131.5 lb/ft torque on a superflow dyno with a GMPP intake and scoop (and 124.6 HP and 124.4 lb/ft torque with stock intake - see the link in my sig). From the other cars at our club dyno day, it appears the 2.4 auto puts down just about the same HP and torque as the 2.2 5-speed. However, it's amazing how much the 2.4 gained with the GMPP intake and scoop. The 2.4 is definitely strangled - the VVT and the most radical cams of any production ecotec really need intake work to breathe! I don't doubt the 2.2 would also benefit from these mods!

As for mods i have a k&n drop in which I took out for the first run and replaced with the stock and the k&n is good for about 2-3 hp. I also have the exhaust off of an SS/SC on my car.

My 2.4 auto dyno'd 142fwhp (dyno dynamics.) But it ran 15.35 in the 1/4 with huge traction problems (it was raining that night and the track was wet). So although they put less hp on a dyno, it will definately put more of the available power to the ground than a manual with equal dyno numbers. I expect my "weak" little 2.4 auto will get close to 15 sec. flat on a dry day if it doesn't roast the tires when it shifts into second gear, like it did that night. I think that would be a respectable time for a 5 spd.

If you would have read his dyno numbers page you would have seen that it was dynoed in Denver, aka the mile high city. The air is less dense, so he made less power than he would have at say 500 ft elevation.

If you are ever at the Denver airport, and are not used to the elevation, run some and you will learn real quick.
