Life of brake pads?

Im coming onto 7000 miles since August and Im on the original brake pads. Had the wheel rotated about 1000 miles ago and nothing was said to me about me having to replace them soon. Now Im getting a sound from them which to me sounds like the low pad wear indicator.

How many miles you folks put ona set of brake pads?

Thanks for the replys

Take it to the dealer, you rotors might be grooved causing this sound.

And your break pads can last 30K +++ miles, all depends on the driving style

gesh, guess I will have to take a look at them then.

Thanks for the replys.

Took a look all pads have about 5/16-3/8 of life left.

Front rotors are alittle wavy which really pisses me off b/c I dont ride on the brakes hard at all. back rotors are fine.

And Im sure they wont be covered under warrenty.

Ask the dealer, worst they can say is no.

As for the pads, I'm at almost 40k and just now getting ready to replace mine.

That has nothing to do with brake performance or riding the brakes. When do your brakes squeal? in the morning when it is a little chilly outside or after everything has warmed up?

Still running the original pads on my '04 Redline. 60% left as of last week. 22,000 on them.
