Sales@Tagracecraft 02-20-2007, 01:34 PM Announcement
Hi, my name is Mel owner and operator of TAG Racecraft. I am saddened to announce that Jim has decide to leave the company to pursue a carrier in a different field. This is definitely a loss to the company but I would like to keep everyone assured that we will continue to research and develop products for the Ecotec community. Jim has been our representative on this site but there is a lot more people involved in developing these products. We have a team of 5 individual that design, test and manufacture all the products that we offer. This said, all orders will continue as planned and we will do what ever we can to help, if you have any question please feel free to call us at the shop 905-845-0888 or email us at sales@tagracecraft.com. I know there has been some delay and confusion but we are on top of things.

Nothing will be changed, just redirect all PM's to this account and I have contacted the Admin to transfer things over.
Jim was more of the sales guys at tag, we have several people who work on the cobalt/redline products.

Edubs 02-20-2007, 01:50 PM Can't wait to see updates on you projects. You definately have been pioneers for the Cobalt community. Please let Jim know that we appreciate all his hard work and effort to keep us up to date on progress. He has made a great name for your company on our site and whoever takes his place as the rep for our community has some big shoes to fill. This is a crucial time for TAG on css.net, make the most of it and good luck...

1gmfanatik 02-20-2007, 09:45 PM I also have to agree that Jim was a damn good guy to have around, good luck to him in his future endeavors.
That being said, Welcome Mel, and thank you for your continued help and input with our community. Your company has come up and continues to come up with some damn good products for us and we appreciate your support.

JCswoosher2 02-20-2007, 11:08 PM there to far into it now lol
2K5SS/SC? 02-20-2007, 11:22 PM Ok, this would defnitely explain why Jim hasn't answered my PM. I know you guys stated all orders etc. will continue as planned, but I would just like to be sure that all deposits are still accounted for as well. If you would like you can PM me as I've been in on the twinscrew swap since I talked to Jim way back when to get that project started. Not worried, just showing a little concerned though. Thanks for the update, and send Jim my best.
Toronto SS 02-21-2007, 01:24 AM wow this is a bit of a shocker... I'll still be in touch about a tune as soon as my intake arrives.
boostbalt 02-21-2007, 02:33 AM I don't think TAG will let this opportunity pass them by, they have the ENTIRE cobalt community at their disposal! TAG is in a position to profit nicely from every single Cobalt owner. I've taken Jim's example and I will be applying it to all my business ventures, he was definately a role model for many.
Is it me or does it feel like someone just died? (wow, did I say that?)
Hat's off Jim!
Ryan
Pooch 02-21-2007, 02:38 AM No jim don't leave till the superchager swap is done..........JK. He will be missed for sure.

BlackSS/SC 02-21-2007, 02:49 PM This really sucks! Jim was a good guy!
Jumpin Fool 02-21-2007, 03:52 PM I think you guys have done enough knob polishing in this thread already.
"Jim's so great" or "Welcome Mel"
As of right now I'm out over 1500 in this deal until I see something viable. I'm excited about this thing as much as anyone else. Hell, I was number 2 on the list. But I want some progress on this thing. When this whole concept came about there was talk about it being ready sometime in February. Anybody realize what month is about to end? All the hype around this (created by Jim) said that they had it all figured out and it was just a matter of them getting in the SC's and they'd be off and running.
Let's hope this doesn't turn into another, "What the Hell Happened to Hahn?" They talked about their turbo kits and twincharging kits and it ended up being a lot of BS and contradicting information about claims and when it would be out. And I'm talking about phone conversations with the same person at Hahn each time I called, not forum rumors.
Well Mel, how about giving us something that's going to change my mind.
IMADreamer 02-21-2007, 04:53 PM Darn, I really hate to lose Jim as a member of this community. I didn't know him or anything but he seemed like someone who was really working hard for us. I hope the other guys at Tag do the same thing as he did and are very active here.
Good luck to you guys in life after Jim.

I must say that I have to somehwhat agree with this post as I'm number one on the list, and it was Jim who I soley talked to to get this whole deal rolling. To me a message that the only person I've talked to and entrusted $1500 with has left leaves me a little nervous. This is completely normal though from our perspective. I do have condfidence that TAG will prevail, but we're going to need some pics, private messages, or a phone call from someone there for a little reassurance. Please keep us informed so we can be relieved of our worst fears!

LOOK UNDER MY HOOD
Jumpin Fool 03-11-2007, 05:28 AM I just sent this to TAG.
Remember this?
We have our test car currently at the CNC shop. I'll post some pics. The kit will come with a dual pass plate to support the new bypass, so this takes some time to design.
Mel
Or this?

I don't care if you never post in the forum but the people with a deposit on the line at least deserve an update. I understand the high demands of owning and running a business, I've done it myself. I understand that you have money on the line in every direction and people always wanting something. I'm not asking for a refund. I'd much rather have the kit.
People were depending on TAG not to be another Hahn. Hahn threw out all this hype, then just dropped off the face of the earth.
Please just get us some real info.
Thanks
^ I don't understand your point here.
Yes things take longer than they should but TAG's trying to provide the Cobalt community with everything they ask for.
So far since they have been a Supporting Vendor since early December they have come up with:
TAG Stage 1
TAG Stage 2
GM Stage 2 Upgrade
Methanol Injection Kit
Chromoly subframes (completed)
Turbo Kit (tuning getting finalized, trying to move the MAF again)
Twin Screw Kit (in fabricatin stage)
2.4 Turbo kit (Solstice for now)
2.5" & 3" full header back exhaust
Show me a company on here that does more and I will point it out to Mel.
If anyone has put down a deposit, TAG will gladly refund their money.
firestorm 03-11-2007, 03:12 PM tell it to the mountain...
Red2.4SS/SC 03-11-2007, 03:57 PM so this kits gonna be done when

My point? The point of this forum is for TAG to update on progress, or lack thereof. So far it's been a lot of knob polishing about how great Jim was, ignorant opinions, off topic comments and empty promises. It's not important to me what they've accomplished with anything else but the twinscrew. That's what I put a deposit on, that's what I was asking about, and I was writing to Mel at TAG, not you. Whenever I get something positive back from them I post it in the forum. In the two posts that I quoted he said he'd post "an update this week with all pricing and new dyno results" and "pics". I haven't seen either. :thumbsdow If things are taking longer that's fine, but they should let us know something. I didn't say anything about wanting a refund. My message was polite, respectful, and to the point. If you didn't understand it, oh well. If you don't have a factual from the source update then don't bother me with ignorance. :nono: Sorry, you stepped in the line of fire. Hope I didn't hurt your feelings or lose you at any point by stating facts. Have a nice day :)
God bless Amurka :usa:
