my 2 tone painted carbon fibre hood is on finally!
a bunch of stuff just got washed beside it, so ya, it's dirty like i said, and no the paint is mint. if you look at the reflection on the wall, you will see the hood reflected the flash and then the shutter speed caught the bounce back off the wall off the hood and into the camera. those in edmonton will get to see it and vouch for my painting ability. i cleared it, let it sit a week, block wetsanded it 600, then went over it by hand 800 wet, and recleared.
it will wait another week before i polish it, but it really doesn't need it. its far smoother or flatter than the rest of the car, you see reflections in it as mentioned above. there are 2 small dust nibbs in it, and if i polish it, i will be way smoother than the rest of the car, damn GM orange peel. i dont want to have to do the whole car until i have a reason to sand half the clear onto the floor, lawl. i repainted the back bumper too, off the car, cause it backed into a mop and pail and had a 3 inch scratch. I'm to fussy to leave it like that. k, i will resize it and next time i pull it outside, ill get a decent picture. there are a couple streakes on the hood from wiping some water off it, im sure that is showing a bit.

its an I Trenz, i bought from CA.
i had to move both hinges, slot the hinges, and move both fenders a bit.
I drilled the hood and am using the stock hood ram to keep it up, but i had to rob the hardware off my stock hood. The only thing i need to buy for the hood is the thick foam weatherstripping surrounding the latch.
and it feels pretty sturdy. but time will tell, right?
Kenny told me it's stronger than the fibreglass one i ordered. oops.
i wanted subtle, so i planned on painting all black, but when a carbon hood came, i pondered for a week, and decided to 2-tone it. I've been too busy to do it quickly, but
its done now, and looks great in person. Too bad it snowed again, and i had to cancel my 3rd dyno appt. dammit! Im helping a forum member with shop space this weekend to mod his car, so I'm sure I'll get mine outside for a good pic. These damn forums
need small pictures, and the absolute smallest pic my nikon d200 can take is about 900kb.
i used photobucket to resize them so those damn 56k'ers and 15" screeners can see it too without scrolling for an hour. heh. If ya want big detail, and i crank up the camera, the pics are about 60mb each.

i also had to repair a rockchip that happened when my dealer took it for a 61 km test drive... bear in mind the car needs a bath. oh, and oldsskool need not reply. i guess he keeps his gay stuff in the closet, har.
