We need to start planning for the next Grapevine meet. The last one was awesome and everyone keeps talking about another one, but no plans seem to have been made. We should really have a meet once a month. I think that would be perfect. Lets put our heads together and come up with a plan to get the next meet going.

 

ill be driving down to dallas saturday night and be there halfway through sunday. and then to delrio and back hopefully for friday

 

i tried to get one going this saturday/sunday but nobody could really agree on a time...

I got this weekend off, so we really do need to get something together. Sat or Sun i really don't care... but lets get a time, place, and lets the people

Trust me, the 1/8th mile tends to bring the cars' times closer together than you'd think. If I recall, the last time Mines_Better was at the track, he was running similar times to TURBOED Mustang GTs, and not the older body styles, but the newer ones. Its a great way to get a feel for your car's capabilities.

just think of the 1/8 mile as a street race. street races are usually short like that. the outcomes are way different than the 1/4. that makes it really fun to race!

Track in Denton will probably open later in the evening, around 6:00pm or so.










Edit: I've tried the phone number out at Denton Dragway, and it claims to be a non-working number. Calendar for March also appears to not be updated. Kennedale Raceway is definitely opened today, but not Saturday.

Doesn't look very promising for the 1/8th mile. I just checked the Denton Raceway website and it claims, "No races scheduled for Saturday". Of course we can still plan on a cruise or something if anyone is interested. There's a Redline guy from LA in town. I told him that he's welcome to head out for a cruise and POSSIBLY a 1/8th run. I guess that means more time for beer drinking...
