Removal of GM Hub.

I recently have sold my GMS2.

So I need to remove the hub. anyone do this? I have the press I used to get it on and I need to keep the hub so it is usable again. How does one press it off do you think? Thanks for helping from those who have done it and have experience!

I have a puller. I am looking at the 24.99 shoe horn that is used to remove the intense hub system.

I have the pulley boys pulley puller and it has a plate similar to the intense one. I took my factory pulley off without damaging it so that should work. You will have to leave the pulley on the hub to get it off but it shouldn't damage it.

Hmmm well thanks. I also pulled the factory pulley off with my current puller. but to do that with the hub and pulley on it with 4 bolts may rip the bolts to the point of breaking. that is why I directed attention to the additional horseshoe that is for sale for 12.99 or 24.99 as it depends where you buy it. I need to know if these either two of these items from pulley boyz or intense will work for the GM Hub. and hopefully from someone who has done it.

thanks you for your input.

I think you are talking about a hydraulic press. That would work the best.

SSnipes, I haven't looked at the GM hub before but is it an offset hub like intense or zzp or is it centered? The intense removal plate should work but we tried to pull a billettflow hub off with it and it was a PITA. Billetflow's hub is centered so there wasn't a lot of room; we ended up having to grind the smaller horseshoe. And in the end I think we used a hydraulic press anyways. Don't try and remove the hub with the pulley on, I can almost guarantee you'll strip the hub.
