with stage 2 im pretty sure you will walk both of them from a dig or roll. im stock and beat an rx8 by a half car at 100. never raced a 350 but i hear we can stay close to them

Raced a 350Z with a CAI. He ran a 15.1 and a I ran a 14.9 stock.
But for a stock SS/SC against a stock RX8, it depends on the RX8 model. I guess there is a S version with more horsepower and a 6 speed that is right next to us in performance

hahaha, that's embarrassing for Mazda...how are they going to continue to justify their prices for their "superior" sport cars?

rx-8's are jokes as far as straight line performance, even the faster model is no match for a stock ss/sc... you should do well against the 350z, it may be a little tougher for you from a dig with the whole rwd thing but it won't make enough difference for you to lose. maybe a different story if you like racing from really high speeds(really high as in high third gear roll) , those things have ridiculous drag coefficients.

I know we can take the rx-8 straight line, but have you ever driven one in the twisties? oh man, the thing is a freakin surgical instrument.

The 350 will take you stock if he can drive, I have seen them stock run a 14.0-13.9. With stage two, and especially if you roll, you will pull him. They are really nasty out of the hole though.

^^Yeup^^ I raced on at a track and i was stock, he had an exhaust thats all i could tell and i passed the line .2 sec behind him.

And against an rx8, you will smoke him stock unless you miss a gear, but you will stilll probably catch up.

Hey fellas, new guy on the block here,

Just out of curiosity, what do you guys usually run at the track with your stage II kits? I hear the whp is around the 240 mark or....?

Thanks.

as far as the rx8 goes....it takes the cars ALONG time to build power...damn 9k redline....the rx8's power sucks below 100....it starts to pick up some nice speed after this

It depends on the driver and location. I haven't ran at the track yet, but from what 've seen 13.6 to 14.0 was what some were getting.

Thats not too bad at all. So im guessing low 13's are pretty easy with these cars?

ive raced my buddies 07 350z(300hp,nismo edition) and we went from a 60 roll-140..he beat me by 4cars...i also had a passanger and he was alone..dont knw if that makes a diffrence,he can drive and the diffrence between our cars is almost 100hp..so a 06 and up 350z u will get beat by it...older models are 270hp u might have a chance against those...

the rx-8 is a easy win....ive beaten several of them with my old 150hp neon, outcome is me winning by more than a whole car..

I love Rx-8's. Those are fast cars. Stock, witht he 6 speed manual transmission, it has 238 HP, and its naturally aspirated. Throw an intake and a turbo on a rx-8, its a beast of a force to recon with. But stock you should beat them. They're made for handling.

It just goes to show that the Cobalt SS S/C is one of the best performance per dollar cas on the market [currently in production] right now!

I ran a stock 07 z350 on the way home from work one day. He got a cars length jump on me before I realized he wanted to go, but by 120 I had about 3 cars on him. Let me tell you, he looked PISSED... LOL... at the time I ran him I only had Stage 2.

Lightbulb CobaltSS vs 350Z

I watched a yellow SS run a 350Z but it was from 35mph up. The SS was ahead by about a car length when the 350Z gave up. BUt wiuth that said, I have a relative with a stock 350Z and watched her run a 14.1 quarter mile at ATCO raceway with stock tires and a 13.8 with after market rims and wider tires.

Hope that helps.

i never raced a rx so im not sure how we stand with those

but the 350z i have raced before.. we just rolling on the highway and we just gave it a little run.. it pretty much ended up with whoever had the shot ended up winning. there was some traffic so we never reached above 100.. however if we kept going i believe i would of walked him each time.. he seemed to start falling off around there.
