Just Looked At The New 07 Ss/sc
i think it looks ok. still like the 06's better. the rims are kinda bulky looking on the 07's. the front and rear bumpers or shroud whatever you call them it has a small flare on the bottom. and the steering wheel is alittle different. and i think thats about it. but it looks ok and the price is 1k higher aswell. i was talking to one of the sales persons there and she said till next wednesday. i can get 2k off the sc. WITH my trade in of my 2.4 mint never been in snow. very clean no mods. now she said i wouldnt lose any money on the deal. but i said yes i would i would lose all the money i already paid on my 2.4 which was 3k down and mothly payments since august. so i would actually be paying more for well MORE! anywhos didnt know if anyone seen any of them yet.

yeah i went and checked them out the dealership i went to said they were getting NONE with the large spoiler i just shook my head and said thats what makes this car , but o well i think there clean its a cobalt thats for sure , the radio is also different and i DEFINATELY prefer the 06 on over the 07 the 2 knobs is awesome the 1 knob , well innovative, but not to my liking

I agree that the body kit on the 06 ss/sc looks better than that on the 07, the way its front lip juts out is kind of odd.
What else is odd is that if you look at a lot of Chevy's product guides, it's the 2.4 ss and not the 2.0 that they are pushing. The 2.4 is even on the cover of the 2007 Cobalt product guide book (the little magazine you can find at the dealer..).
On the knobs - the new steering wheels have a very intuitutive layout for their control buttons. To be honest I only actually touch my actual unit about 5% of the time. Just make sure you find one with RECESSED buttons.. not sure if there's any product difference, but it looks a lot better than with the covex buttons (and I've seen both on identical cars in the same lot - probably a 1/2 year changeover..)
Finally - figure out exactly why you want this ss/sc. I just bough my 2.4 not that long ago and I'm very happy with it. Does the sc get to 60 1 second faster or go 1.4 secs faster on a 1/4? Yes - but when the hell do I need this in real life? The 2.4 provides great performance, styling, efficiency and I promise you will last longer. Take a while to read some of the problems the 2.0 guys are having before you decide to make this move..
To be honest you can turn your 2.4 into an s/c destroyer for a bit less than you'd be losing on the trade in.. just my 2 cents.

At the dealership right next to my apt there's an orange ss/sc with LSD. It DID have the high spoiler on it, but it's been replaced like in the past week with a low spoiler.
I think the ability to see out the rear window may have something to do with that..

2. about 1 sec 060 faster is rigth but certainly ne where near 1.4 secs fastr then int he 1/4 mile---5 speed VS 5 speed---0.75 at most
Right on, and my bad. I do know that the 07 I was looking at today had a lip that not only was flat but stuck out a bit, had like little tabs on it.. I'm pretty sure I haven't seen anyone here with that on their ****.
Point was it's just not enough real-world performance difference to matter. I don't understand why so many people seem obsessed with trading in their car that isn't paid off for a car that's just a teeny bit better. Maybe they enjoy getting raped by banks and dealers, whatever.
I just don't get it. Save your money people, damn.

I believe the HHR has the same wheel. I kind of liked it when I rented a LT 2 HHR.
Yeah, all new sport and economy use this kind of wheel I think, in varying levels of trim. I think the aveo even has it, as do the Pontiacs of course and I'm pretty sure even the SS trims on the Malibu and Imapala (wish they'd put an SS logo on our wheels, bastards..).
Even the lowest LS has this wheel, except it's made of plastic, doesn't have the silver trim and only has controls for the DIC - still cool though since it gives someone with a base vehicle some 'buttons on their steering wheel' - little things like that sell cars.
It has the cruise settings and DIC on the left side, and the audio controls on the right. All with buttons that you can use with just your thumbs. It's 3-spoked of course and is nice and thick, I really like the wheel on mine.
I'm sure I'll be called a heretic but I personally think GM may be shifting away from factory installed forced induction to move towards it as a dealer installed option. More $$ I'm sure (can't talk someone below invoice if you're asking for $3000 part) and will probably quicken the production up a bit.

not trading in
no i really love my 2.4 just was thinking how much raping i would get on the trade in and i would actually lose all the money ive paid for my 2.4 which is over 5k so far. and i know i can get a nice turbo kit when they make the tune or right kit just for the 2.4 and blow a 2.0 outta the water. and yes ive heard some bad things about the 2.0 like having problems with oil with sc and stuff. but i bought the 2.4 cuz of its mpg. hp, styling, PRICE, and overall availability and sexy look of that low pro spoiler. i love the car and cant wait to get it out from hibernation for the winter. spring is ariving and THE NEW MODS shall be coming soon. cant wait to see how much i livin the car up. with a header downpipe and cat exhuast and cai. basic mods for now. visuals this summer. but thats all for now thanks guys.

I would love to buy an Alpine turbo kit for my 2.4. Yes, it would end up costing me more than an SS/SC would have, but it's a 4-door and has an auto (both of which are unavailable with SC) and, more importantly, it doesn't carry the insurance cost of an SS/SC.
Nothing better than having a guy right down the road with the same car!
Sweet!
what kinda 2.4 do you have. im going for the gmpp performance exhuast, not really sure on what header i want theres lots of good ones but dont want to spend more than 280 and cobalt addiction dowpipe 2.5 inch highflow cat. and injen cai. should be running me around 1k or less. i definatly cant wait to get my car outta the damn garage. theres a copper sc just at the top of my street and a black one on the other side of cleveland street. and a few regular balts around town. there starting to be popular lol.

I have a Silver Coupe, MTx, 2007 and right now it's bone stock. I'm doing some interior touches in the next week or so.. just ordered some MOMO pedals and I've got the MRZ sill plates on the way.. just little things.
Performance wise, I'm going GMPP intake and GMPP touring exhaust sometime in the next couple months, then CA downpipe and header probably this summer.
Final exterior touches will be the RK scooped hood and to slam this bitch down so it doesn't have a big ass, and I'll be ready to go.

thats gm's new "black tie" radio....i find it to be a huge improvement over the 06's cuz of the layout...it still has 2 knobs..the big one in the middle for the volume and the little one to the right for the tuning...but the things i like the most are the ability to mix up the bands on the presets for the radio (xm, fm and am all mixed up on each of 6 preset "pages") and who could complain about the ipod jack??
