WOWOWOW... i have to say i do not have a cobalt but i do own a redline. i have been frequently reading about these kits and i am as anxious as all of the cobalt owners are believe me... but when i first spoke to jim the guess was around 3500$ then up to like 4100$ now 5400$$ ??? i would BUY THIS IN A SECOND but imo for what the kit comes with for 5400$ thats way to steep.. jim had said somewhere around 325 or so hp dyno wise .. not for 5400$ ...

PLEASE I AM NOT BASHING TAG.. i would like mel now to explain why this is so much $$ im sure they will miss out on a lot of cobalt along with A LOT of rl owners like myself who were awaiting this setup.. but not for 5400$.. mel please give us some insight thanks...

i would def be up for it for 3500 maybe just over 4k.. but this is a bit steep.. i def want to ditch the s/c no offense to the guys that love the s/c im just a turbo guy myself.. thanks again

Damn that is crazy expensive if this is indeed true. I don't go by speculation though, so I'll wait to see what Mel and the rest of the TAG team have to say first.

Yeah, for $5400 you could buy a complete new engine....however, you have to give them credit because not many other companies are making stuff for our cars.

I would have thought that was expensive too until I bought my VW. Stg 1 single turbo kit is $7995, Stg 2 is $11999.

When was a price released for the kit? I don't see any prices on their site for the turbo kit.

Secondly, does any one know if TAG was going to offer a few stages of the turbo kit? Sifting through the other threads it's hard to tell. Thanks guys.

Hi everybody regarding the pricing of this kit TAG thinks that its very reasonable, Because the kit comes with [ PRECISION GT28 TURBO, TURBOSMART 38mm WASTEGATE & BLOWOFF VALVE, PIPING ,60 LBS INJECTOR, HARNESS and TUNE ] most kit doesnt come with the TUNE. We RND this Kit so you dont have to go thru headache going to perf. shop to Tune & Dyno. The experience we have from the past couple years that, customer will buy their own kit and bring it too us and ending up more costly. Because they spent time on the DYNO & TUNING, that could cost a lot more. [We think $5400.00 CAD is very reasonable.]:ca:

Dessert Fox is one of the techs.

Remeber TAG's using a quality turbo. Here's a fact:

The Turbo Solstice Hahn has puts out 348WHP at 18PSI and 100 octane on a Mitsubishi Turbo. TAG's runs a Garrett GT2876R and at 8PSI and 94 octane it makes 311WHP and that's still running rich and low timing. I'm guesstimating around 340-350WHP when it's properly tuned on 8PSI!!

and yes it should be around 5400CDN or 4700US. I'll post a break down of everything today.

I was going to post after we dyno the Cobalt again this week but you guys are so anxious. We still have to tweek the car and get some more juice out of it.

i understand how the kit come with alot of stuff and i love tag for making everything so fast.. but jim orignally said 4100 with tune injectors and the intercooler +piping.... so if i dont want the tune an injectors does that take like at least 400 off the price... cuz iirc he was going to send tunes for 200 and injectors are around 200.. just wondering..

then you need HP Tuners. This way we can send you tunes and you send us logs until you have a perfect tune.

Man, Thats some good #'s right there! It sounds awesome. However I might have to side a lil with Acid 5.0 that for me, (If I had the Balt SS S/C) It sounds like a lot of hassel.

it is alot of hassle.. im not scared to touch a motor.. i have built quite a few built motors on different applications.. but i have also gotten FI packages for around 2.5-3.5k.. yes i had to do the tuning and what not.. but when im looking at paying 2x that amount and still have to do the same amount of work..can you see where i am coming from? 5k is alot of money to drop on a package when you still have to do most of the work...
and seeing how i dont live close.. those figures are probably gonna be in the 7-8k range for people that are not accessable to use your facility and knowledge...

i would buy a tuner package.. but im not gonna pay more due to factors i dont control (distance)

im not flaming at all.. what you have brought to the car is freaking awesome and i appreciate like everyone else.. but i think you guys just might wanna sit down and realize customer distance from your facility is going to hurt selling these packages if its just a flat price

a turbo kit thats 1/4th of the cars sticker price....a lot especially since the vast majority of owners are most likely under 30
