Finally gave the car some HPTuners loving!

Well, I got my fuse replaced so my OBD-2 port could receive power and pulled the tune from my car. Then I took a tune I was given by a certain someone, you know who you are , and basically compared the tunes and copied the differences onto my saved tune from my car to avoid using credits to activate the VIN that the tune came from. It took some research to figure out how to do it, but it was worth it in the end. I flashed the new tune into my car and viola I have my first rough tune! The tune I was given runs a hell of a lot smoother than the GMPP Stage 2 tune did, and the car is holding a solid 1.7-2.0 A/F ratio when getting into full throttle! I need to setup and datatlog now, but it's great so far! Now I just need to start educating myself on tuning the parameters without copying next time! Baby steps first though!

Oh, and I met a nice clean 1991ish Eclipse GSX that was modded and pretty quick on the onramp, and even with my short shifting I blew past him easily when he was in full thottle!

Thanks. I'm broke now because of it though, but I can assure you the guy who tuned your car knows what he is doing!

the only thing that confuses me is the 1.7-2.0 a/f ratio...did you mean 11.7-12.0:1?

Yeah, I guess I got so happy I forgot a couple numbers! It's 11.7-12.0.

That's a pretty god afr, I've found that my sweet spot for power is 12.1 to max tq and 11.8 from there to redline. Pulls very nice.

I'm sure I can fine tune the car some since it's a borrowed tune, but it's a damn good tune already. Julex, I'm from Nashua, NH. I'll have to look you up when I visit the family this year.

Sounds good, we have a whole car club, we could meet up somewhere and cruise, as I know one of them basically is rebuilding the entire engine, all that's left is the ported head needs to fine tuning, but he's got almost a full top and bottom end, intake, head, Tb, blower, and exhaust header all ported. Tons of work, hehe.

Certainly was, but I'm ready for more power already. It's an addiciton I swear. 60lb injectors are enroute and a smaller pulley will be on the way until I get the twinscrew swap.

Sweet deal man. I'll be in contact real soon LJ!

Matty send me your pulley now! No, I'll just order my own because I'm not feeling the 2.5 quite yet.

Nope, I won't run the Eaton that hard man. Not at least without Methanol injection. I like to keep my car running awhile now that it's fixed again.

Can't say I blame you.
I will be going the meth route as well when it is all ready for the upgrade. I see a heat exchanger in the future as well.

shizit....I run a 2.5 without meth..it pulls hard too. My IAT's are kept down with the second HE. I am going to run the dual pass endplate with option B. That should make the total coolant over a gallon.

So your saying there is no real need for the meth?

Matty there is not actual need for meth, but the extra HE and dual pass mod helps out tremendously. I'm thinking of removing the stock HE since it's stuck between the AC condensor and radiator, and using the Fliudyne Cobra 3-pass HE up front in conjuntion with the dual pass mod.

I think I will upgrade the cooling instead of the meth.

Fluidyne is great quality. Will that one fit?

I don't think its necessary as long as your have something else. I don't think I can run the amount of timing someone on meth can though. I haven't dialed in my tune lately.

The fluidyne one is nice. You could add that and the dual pass end plate and probably double if not triple the capacity.
