View Full Version : Calgary Insurance rates
korzym 03-05-2007, 11:10 PM Hello
I'm reviewing costs related to cobalt ss supercharged ownership. I'd probably be interested in a black ss with roughly 20k kms, priced under $20k.
I found this calculator and according to it I should pay $1447.8/year but would like to know what the mean going rate is for you guys if I may ask.
My stats are:
liability: $200k
calgary
21 years old
6 years licensed
with driver training
one [stupid] at fault claim
no convictions
http://www.airb.gov.ab.ca/gridrate/AirbGrid1.aspx#Calculator <<maybe compare your real rate compared to what this calculator provides for reliability sake
thanks for any help in advance!!
Kaisoboy 03-05-2007, 11:13 PM thats pretty damb good for someone of your age with a at fault claim. Is that full coverage?
an0malous 03-05-2007, 11:34 PM To be honest i would be shocked if you can get anywhere near that rate.
Im 27. no accidents, no claims, no tickets, married, and thats about what Im paying.
And just 3 months ago I shopped around to see if anyone could offer me a better rate.....Allstate and wawanesa couldnt touch it.
Kaisoboy 03-05-2007, 11:37 PM That's why I asked if that was full coverage. I am 39 and paying 1200/year full coverage with no marks on my licence.
an0malous 03-05-2007, 11:39 PM wow I just checked. it says i should pay $850 a year.
Good luck lol. I wish i was paying that.
Kaisoboy 03-05-2007, 11:43 PM hmmm...I got 896.50. If that's what the government is quoting I think we are being robbed. God damb insurance companies. There are thre types of legal crooks in this world; Lawers, politicians and insurance companies. LOL
sidejam 03-05-2007, 11:45 PM LOL!!! Wasn't very accurate fo me either!

I think I am going to have a little chat w my insurance company. That must be for 6 months.
put these #'S in the boxes, 2,000,000 , 1 year driving 15 at faults, 11,11,11=$10,156,567.13

Kaisoboy 03-05-2007, 11:57 PM I just noticed he has liability set at 200K. could be why. there is no insurance company that will give you a 200k liability on a new car. At 200k my insurance is less than 700/year.
an0malous 03-05-2007, 11:58 PM dude you dont like me because I dont like HIDs in reflectors.

Kaisoboy 03-06-2007, 12:17 AM Try re-calculating it with 1000000 liability. that should give you a better idea.
saunders1986 03-06-2007, 12:17 AM i pay 300 and it sux :(
Kaisoboy 03-06-2007, 12:20 AM Yeh..Ijust re-calculated for you with a mill liability and it quoted 1700/year so I would estimate depending where you live about 2500 but don't quote me on that.
vanillathrilla 03-06-2007, 01:02 AM Morgex is covering me with full coverage for $201 a month

Grow up its a joke. Everyone in Alberta jokes about the Newfy's that work here. Its just a joke though, we all appreciate you comming here and working and helping to pay our taxes and shit, lol. So don't take it seriously man. If you want just counter with the fact that most of us are a bunch of back country rednecks.
