View Full Version : Safe to? 3ds138 03-06-2007, 02:39 PM Is it Safe t run a 2.9 pulley on Gm Stage 2 Tune??? Doc 03-06-2007, 02:45 PM anything smaller and I'd go with 60's. 3ds138 03-06-2007, 02:47 PM waht about a 2.8?? i heard they are good with the Gm Tune or is it? Doc 03-06-2007, 02:49 PM its pushing the limits of the injectors...personally, no, I wouldn't do it. Its been done though. srt-killer 03-06-2007, 02:49 PM You will be fine. Just don't go any lower than 2.8 with 42's. 3ds138 03-06-2007, 02:54 PM its pushing the limits of the injectors...personally, no, I wouldn't do it. Its been done though. alright.. well i guess I will go with a 2.9.. or is it even worth it? Doc 03-06-2007, 02:56 PM its worth it...there are quite a few people that run a 2.8 and stage 2 tunes. Just remember that the duty cycle increases when your in the higher rpm range. If you don't race or take the car deep into the rev's it might be worth it to go to the 2.8. Does pulley boys sell a 2.8 or 2.9..?? 3ds138 03-06-2007, 02:59 PM think they got a 2.8, not to sure about a 2.9. I don;t ever go to the track.. try not to beat on the car as much.. but I like giving it a little bit of throttle on the highways and such.. I sometimes go in to redline. but not to often.. Stouffer 03-06-2007, 03:08 PM I have been looking into this as well. The 2.9 would be the safest bet from I have been reading and this is where I have found one that you can get to match the gm hub. Just got off the phone with them would take upto 2 weeks max to get the pulley. http://www.cobaltperformanceparts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_108&products_id=336 3ds138 03-06-2007, 03:17 PM you sure that matches the GM HUB? does not look like it Doc 03-06-2007, 03:20 PM I believe pulleyboys sells the right pulley here... direct link (http://www.pulleyboys.com/lsj28.html) 3ds138 03-06-2007, 03:20 PM thats a 2.8 Stouffer 03-06-2007, 03:26 PM The one in the pic is not the one you get. I just talked them. They make any size you want to fit the gm hub. Takes them about 3 days to get it machined for gm hub. And you use the existing bolts as well. Hey Doc, thnx for gettin back to me. I would go with the pulley boys but dont want to worry about the injectors with the 2.8. That's why I have been searching for 2.9 to fit the gm hub 06blackSC 03-06-2007, 03:36 PM here ya go! I just bought a polished 2.9" just a couple hours ago. A few members here already have his pulleys and the quality i hear is excellent! I could go with that to match the gm hub Doc 03-06-2007, 03:40 PM I have one of those :D I have the pcm too ;) barryBlueSS 03-06-2007, 03:48 PM Greg Gm stage 3 is 76.0 mm which is a 2.99"(3.0)if I'm not mistaken. Your stage 2 is 77.9mm which is 3.07". If you want a 2.9, some guy on ebay name Nate will make any size you want to match your GM hub. And they say he does a good job too. I'll pm you his email address. ttyl BUCK 03-06-2007, 03:49 PM I have a 2.85 on my GM 2 kit. I had Nate make this for me. He is on this site and does this for the public. He will be cheaper than other vendors on this site and he does top notch work. Mine works fine with the 42lb injecters. This is as low as I would go, and Nate backed this up. Just put a good set of colder plugs and it will work fine. Stouffer 03-06-2007, 03:50 PM awesome....glad to know they will make what you want. :twothumbs to Pulley Boys That was CobaltPerformanceParts that makes them. I was considering the gm stage 3 pulley, but there are others the same size for almost half the price. 3ds138 03-06-2007, 03:50 PM thanks barry that would be awesoem Doc 03-06-2007, 07:35 PM That was CobaltPerformanceParts that makes them.
