no cruise control

well started about a week ago. ill turn on cruise control and try to set it and nothing happens when i hit the button, if im lucky ill see cruise engaged flash real quick and it wont be set. i only really noticed after installing my halos but i highly doubt that would be the problem. just wondering if anyone else has this problem and what you guys think it could be? ill be taking the car to the dealership later this week to have it looked at.

That's strange. My friend is having kind of the same problem. He sets his cruise control, and it only lasts for like a couple of minutes and just randomly shuts off. He said it only started doing it after they installed stage 2 on his car...he has an 07 model ss/sc.

do you ride the clutch. If so stop. The clutch peddle has two swithches and if you rid the clutch you will through a code. disconect the - bat terminal for 5-10 minutes to reset your PCM and presto cruz is working. Happened to me and I have now changed my driving habbits. search the threads there are discussions on this subject.

had the same problem, it was one of the clutch sensors that sense whether the clutch is depressed or not. got it fixed under warranty..

you may have thrown a code which dissabes the cruz. does your cruz on/off light work on you steering wheel. if it does try disconnecting you - battery cable for 5-10 minutes then reconnect it. that should clear the code and the cruz will work again if that is the problem.

hope it works for yah as it did for me

cheers

I got this problem again, going to have the codes cleared tomorrow or so. It is the clutch pedal switch, if it gets to many gears shifted between full clutch releases it sets a code, I figured out that the adjust ment on the switch was so close to the full out position that sometimes the weight of the clutch pedal on it would set it off, they adjusted it and now we are ok. (untill we broke it again) aparently you can't press on the clutch pedal to hard or you will break one of the switches and it will set it self off from it's weight. I heard it crack when I pressed on the clutch and tried to adjust my seat. (which I can still do without a problem in my cav.) but the clutch pedal is plastic so I think it bends enough to break the switch....Anywho, they replaced it free of charge and got it working before....now we see what happens out of warrentee.

Just yesterday I noticed also that my cruise control quit. Same symptom, flashes cruise on the display for a second and never engages.
I pretty much figured that it's the clutch switch being mis adjusted.
I see that others had the same issue.
Being a drive by wire car, the cruise is a complete software solution, except for the brake and clutch and steering wheel switches.

My car also has stage 2, so I warned the dealer not to just re-flash it, they would likely re-flash back to the stock program.

Also had the P0335 code a few weeks ago that I want them to look into.
It's a bit frustrating.

This turned out to be the clutch switch on my car. Dealer replaced it.
I sort of thought that would be the fix, even before I read this post.
