please post pics of your window tint %

Hello all
Is there shade differences between manufacturers of tint? Both my Cobalt and Golf have black interior and 20% tint by two different manufacturers. The Golf is deep black whereas the Cobalt is a light shade of black.

Before I go and have the shop remove the 20%, pay more money and go limo on my Cobalt, can you post pics of what your tint looks like? What is your %?

Thanks so much

my tint is 35%, but when the last cop pulled me over it was 29%. I would think 20 would be pretty dark but if its cheap tint you get what u pay for.

PLEASE PLEASE THINK ABOUT SAFTEY FIRST...Sorry to sound like Mom and Dad, but seriously, 5% tint is illegal in most states/provinces, not because people can't see in, but because you , the driver, can't see out!!!. At night, I challenge anyone with 5% side window tint to see if they could see a pedestrian wearing dark coloured clothing crossing an interesection while they're making a left turn. NO WAY!! Anyway, I like 20% all around or even 35% if you're looking for a classy look. Let's face it, the Cobalt's have some damn nice interiors, why would you want to obscure that??

Hmmmm... 2006ArrivalBlueSS does have a point. I do like 20% and would like to stay with it, I am just trying to figure out why my Cobalt 20% is so much lighter than my Golf 20%... Tinted at the same shop 5 years apart, but 2 different tint manufacturers. Ever hear of Madico tint?

Golf looks like Ylojrsy's and Cobalt looks a shade darker than zinner's. I guess I should post some pics

(P.S. to Ylojrsy... yep, I know Merrillville, good 'ol Southlake Mall changed it's name!)

Hahha! I was back there in 2003 for my 20th class reunion. Anyway, don't get the tint too dark. Remember, its hard to see out at night. When I lived in Hammond, IN, I had a taurus with 15% in the rear and 30% in the front. I guess different companies make different shades. I remember that I used Ziebart (back in Indiana) to tint my Taurus. Plus, they had lifetime warranty with it. That was cool. They did good job too.

50% Front, 5% rear. Illinois law says no tint in the front, but when they see the front is lighter than the rear they usally wont bother.

5% all the way here. The only time it is dangerous to see out of is backing up in a dark area at night.

50% front doors, 35% back doors and 20% back window
Law in Québec is 70% on front doors, 0 tint on the windshield and they don't bother with the tint of the rest of the windows.

it could be because of the interior, if the interior of ur golf is darker than the interior of ur cobalt it will look a **** load lighter, i have 35% and at the right angle it sometimes dosent even look tinted because of the light gray interior
