Custom Gas Tank Lid and others

I cant stand... actually.... HATE the gas tank lid on the cobalt, its sooo ugly. The part that sticks out to stick ur finger under it to open it just ruins the side of the car. Are there any aftermarket ones that are flat without the hump? I saw a Carbon Fiber one but even that has the hump. I will probly have to make a custom one or something. Get one from a junk yard or maybe someone has one that they no longer need. What do u guys think?

Before-

After-

Some subtle differences but what do u guys think?

Not bad for using Paint.. lol

I want a black billet fuel door... the kind with the trim ring around the outside... every other car in the world has one... and the only replacement fuel door we have is just covered in CF. I'd get it but it'd look really wierd on there.

As far as the side markers.... other vehicals dont have them, so I dont see why the cobalt needs them.. i mean there are 4 lights on the back that do function.. u dont need 6.... lol.

I would agree that it looks really good without it. But I don't much mind it. i would get a chrome one or CF one, but how would you open the lid without the finger thing? But yeah, go for it!

The no hump cap does look cleaner. No hump doesn't look as inviting to someone looking to screw around with the car.
I am considering getting a release switch hooked up to mine, seeing as my car is torn apart anyways.

My probe had a latch in the inside, so u had to pull that to open the lid up.... i loved that.... nobody could mess with ur gas unless they used a crowbar. And they are not that complicated anyways. Pretty much a pin that goes into the lid, and when u pull that latch, it pulls the pin and pops the lid...

the hump is there to make it easier to open the door when fueling. I do agree that it looks better without it. A great idea would be to shave it off and then install a popper like you would for shaved door handles.
