who has an oil press gauge on there LSJ
who has an oil press gauge on there LSJ
just what the title states,
who has an oil pressure gauge on there 2.0 LSJ becuase the plugs that are on the 2.2 and I guess 2.4s are not on the 2.0s
so someone let me know were the port is too hook up my oil press gauge, and if you know a way to get it to work let me know, any oil lines or anything I can tap into.
Ive have my gauge sitting for like 2-3 months now and I want it hook up,
so tonight when me and a couple of my friends lower my car I want to hook it up if possible.
thanks ahead of time,
Shane

SEE!! everytime Ive posted thing question, everyone tells me "the blocks ar all kind of the same soo it should be right" lol
has anyone actually done an oil press gauge?
has anyone actually done an oil press gauge?
thats for the 2.2.
Ive used the search button and still cant find anything and Ive searched like 15 times too.
nope, the block the guy shows is for a 2.2, and my car doesnt have those plugs Ive looked, lol my mom has a 2.2 eco in her ion and she has the plugs so I know what they look like and were they are, and my ss/sc does not have them
ummm yeah thats not an opition ecos dont use a conventional oil filter set up, its an internal style oil filter. so there is now way to do that
What we ended up doing is making custom ataptor .. Under the oil filter is the oil pressure sensor. You can unscrew it and it provides pressurized oil.
The issues is the threads are some Gm only thing. What we ended up Doing is making an adaptor out of a few fittings to get it to work... had to do some welding but it worked.
Other than that not sure where you can get a pressurized oil feed on these motors. I haven't been lucky enough to have one on the stand to " disect it "

OK.....oil pressure gauge installed yesterday! You'll need a few things to get this going. Here's a few simple steps that I did to get this thing going...
1. Jack car up and place on jack stands
2. remove intake (just gives you a ton more room)
3. unscrew factory oil pressure sensor (for dummy light only)
-it's tapped into the oil cooler right under the oil filter
4. after removing the sensor, make sure it's out in 2 pieces
-1 piece is the sensor itself and the 2nd piece is an adapter that screws into the cooler
5. order Autometer part# 2278 (M12x1.75 to NPT 1/8" Adapter). Cost me $12.99 at A&A auto parts (overnight delivery)
6. screw gauge sending unit into adapter
7. screw adapter and unit into block
8. run your wires and you're all set
this is one of the worst write-ups i've ever done. if you need anymore detailed info just let me know. Best to get a hold of me on AIM as I never check PM's or even replys to my posts. BobWill0414 is my name on there. Good luck gentlemen.

Instead of removing the intake, jack the car up and remove the starter. You will have all kinds of room to work. you can make a tee so you can keep the idiot light, but it is a pain. I built a Tee for mine, it looks like a crack pipe but works.
Aren't the plugs on the left end of the head? I think that would be a better solution. I did mine before I knew there were plugs.

No adverse affects with the car as of yet. I don't think having the sensor out would have any effects on the car b/c it's just an on/off type switch. I'm not too sure what removing the starter would have to do with anything though. Mine was never in the way. Then again, I have a redline, but that shouldn't make too much of a difference. Also, my lower intake box has been removed for some time so when I say that I removed my intake, it's pretty much just the first black elbow comming out of the TB to where the filter would be (right aftr the MAF sensor).
