I have the SS Style hood in carbon fiber currently on my car... however, it was damaged slightly (a few cracks in multiple spots). I found a local shop that will repair it, but it will need painted as the carbon fiber design will be messed up where they repair the cracks.

I originally wanted to paint this hood to match my car, but the carbon fiber look has kind of grown on me. I wouldn't mind buying a new one to replace this hood.

Would anyone consider purchasing it cheap? Obviously I'd sell it pretty cheap... it's a decent deal for someone looking to have it painted to match the car anyway. Anybody interested? If not, I'll just have it fixed and painted.

I'll post pictures once I can actually take some of the damage. We had snow over 5 inches last night and my car is covered right now.

why not return it to the company for a new one if it wasnt packaged properly or fedex mishandled it then one of them should pay to have it replaced. I wouldnt accept a hood in that condition brand new

 

It wasn't new from a company. It was in almost-new condition from somebody else that shipped it to me privately. I'm not an idiot... I wouldn't accept a brand new hood like that. It was packaged properly too... just wasn't handled carefully enough. But unfortunately, the sender didn't insure it properly, so here I am.

Back on track now... PM any offers. Like I said, if I don't get offers, it's no big deal. I can have it fixed and painted. I'd just like to keep the CF look.

what is reasonable to you? i may be able to pick it up next week but not for sure... i am going to the northern part of NC and i may be able to drive up there... i dnno yet itd be up to my parents because id still be recovering from surgery...let me know what you think

can you post pics of the underside of the hood? I think that will sway me one way or the other...

Underside of the hood looks good for the most part. Your body guys are probably telling you to stay away because they think it's full CF. There is structural fiberglass shell underneath the carbon fiber.
