it would definitely be cool to get a sizeable cobalt group to one of these events. nowadays hondas seem the choice of yesteryear, the largest group of guys are in miatas.

but yeah, we really need to get some cobalts out there. Its all about the Mitsu's and Subaru's out there (not to mention the crazy ass miata's....)

Looks like fun. What were your best times? what place did you finish? who won? what were they driving?

 

i ran csp, best time 42.080, 2nd place, one of those f*ckin miatas won. this year is tuning suspension and drivetrain so by the end of the year i should be owning him. coilovers w/pillowball mounts, clutch and flywheel to come shortly. im also looking to upgrade the front control arms with the ss/sc pieces and replace the bushings with poly.

 

I ran NSM, and I placed 16th out of 34...
IIRC my best time was 44.039

It was my first time ever doing auto cross so, I have an excuse
I did start the day with a 47.something time, so I got better every time!

hey man i thought you did really well for your first time, usually your first few times you pick up alot of speed pretty quickly. after the fourth or fifth event you level off and after a year or so all of a sudden you speed up some more and level off again. the learning curve comes in spurts. and that pic of the srt4 in the braking zone is sick, his rear tires are almost completely off the ground.

 

Yeah, I am looking forward to doing it again. I seriously need a second set of wheels and tires though....

 

yea i did a quick search and that 5x110 bolt pattern sucks. the lightest wheels i could find at tirerack.com were 18x8 @18.8lbs for $325 each. on ebay i found some 17x7.5 unknown weight for like $500 for the set shipped.

 

the 5x110 pattern does suck pretty bad, I've seen some saab wheels that have the same pattern and might be lighter, not sure though

Where was that camera mounted???

With your mod list you'll be with me in the street mod category. The pulley is the biggest thing that puts you there I think
I noticed that ***** out power is not as much as I thought it would be, so I am looking into some suspension mods next (already got some better tires, yours will get worn out!)
