My old whip(s)

Though not a Cobalt I thought Id share. This is my 01 Z28 that was a 6 speed with LS1 motor. I put over 8k into this car that I bought brand new and after 3 years and 39k miles I sold it to my cousin (sooo stupid of me) the truck was the wifeys. The ground effects and spoiler on the Z28 are factory option (rare for a V8) and the S10 has the Xtreme package on it

Thank you! Under the hood it was kept about as clean as you could keep a daily driven car. I kept really good care of that car. My cousin now owns it and it doesnt' have near the 39K that I put on it (miles) This car put down 370 to the rear wheel on the dyno and had 360 tq to the rear wheel with 315 Nitto drag radials

also I should mention when I say I put 8k into this car, it was ALL motor. The exhaust system itself was 2k. Headers and y-pipe were 1400 and the catback system was 500

what the hell kinda headers and y pipe cost 1400? you get some hand made headers? with headers that expensive id expect alot more than 370to the grount! and your torque should be higher than your HP with a LS1 but nice looking toys!

This the exhaust system that car ran...

FLP long tubes coated, 3 inch Y-pipe coated, high flow cats, Flow master cat back with a cut out

FLP long tubes come coated with the ypipe and high flow cats..... thats why they are so expensive.

I also had the GM hot cam kit so between the cam, long tubes and that cut out, this car sounded reeeeaaally nasty

That's the EXACT same set up I had on my old '98 WS6 Formula - it was nice to be able to swap out the cats for cutouts in a few minutes. That thing was LOUD with dual cutouts just behind the collectors! Nice lope to the Hotcam too - with a tune mine ran deep in the 12's at 115 traps on street tires. I miss mine too *L*.

Small world *L*. Unfortunately I don't have any sound files of the car - but I remember many times creeping home late at night just idling along so it wouldn't wake the neighbours!

my pace setters on my SS cost 500 coated with ORY and my Z28 has Jett hott coated headers, those where around 500 also, my Z28 has dual electric DMH cutouts and my SS has a single DMH e- cutout. reguardless of money spent the car looks realy realy nice!
