Nope, it has to come off, you can't get the tool in there to get it off. Taking off the blower isn't that hard. Check my article in the how-to section.

By removing the blower, can we damage the (paper?) gasket between the blower and the intake manifold ? It cost about 64$ CDN.

Special Pulley tool or 3-jaw puller ???

For those who remove the blower from the car, what exact tool did you use to remove the pulley from the blower's shaft ? Special Pulley tool or 3-jaw puller ???

It's a metal gasket with a bead of sealant around the gasket of the gasket. I took off and replaced the supercharger without disrupting the sealant/gasket (it stayed intact).

I removed the pulley with the ASP pulley tool.

If you break something when you swap it out yes, it's not covered under warrenty. Just putting on a pulley doesn't void your warrenty, but if you screw something up because of that then it's your responsibility to fix it.

So if I change my pully, and the motor goes, I lose. Right?

Depends what happen, and how it broke.

If the supercharged breaks than yeah they are probably going to blame you but if the cam chain breaks and it chews up the valve train it's going to be hard to blame that on a pulley swap.

They can't just void your warrenty because of a one mod, they have to link the mod to the failure.

You can use a 3-jaw puller if you have a backing plate to put even pressure on the back of the pulley. I have pulled off 3 pulles on my M90 that way with no harm. You will need a press or the pulley tool to put the pulley back on though.

I have a press at work.. My psifi kit should be here tomorrow... Do you think it would work if I put a backing plate behind the pulley and then used the press pushing down on the shaft of the supercharger ? I figured it probably would... I mean its JUST A PULLEY... its not rocket science... Ive replaced a punch of pulleys/balancers on cars... I think maybe im just turning it into too big of a deal in my mind...

To be honest I have not used a press to pull off a pulley but I have herd of people using them for that. I would think as long as you have even pressure around the pulley with a backing plate when you press it off it should work fine. Also the pulley tool puts all the pressue on the shaft so it sounds like it would work but again Ive never pulled one off that way. Good luck with it.

I got my stock pulley replaced for a 3". We made a tool with a backing plate, a center screw and 3 screw to keep the backing plate pressed back on the pulley. The install was easy with a air impact gun. A press can be also used to removed it from the supercharger. For the re-install, we got the pulley heat, so we have been able to insert it manually, then put the supercharger noze in water to cold it.
