View Full Version : 5.0's on HWY 94: Minneapolis to Milwaukee
tygRacer 03-21-2007, 07:26 PM Hey all!
i'm makin the drive from Minneapolis to Milwaukee soon... anything i should be looking out for... hot spots? perma-traps? cameras? never tried posting something like this, but we'll see what happens...
sealy 03-21-2007, 08:50 PM Ahh...no cameras that I know of. When it is nice out you might see a bike cop. Just the other day on 43 South I saw an unmarked black camero that pulled over a nice 7 series bmw. You might see more out at the end of the month...quotas. I live in Waukesha Co. and make the 94 trip to Madison quite often to visit friends. Don't go much past that unless it's summer and we are traveling.
Goodluck, what are you driving?
tygRacer 03-22-2007, 11:10 AM have a ss/sc - pretty stock at this point...
yeah i'll be on 94 the whole ride, and i'm trying to make good time on the way down on a friday night, but don't want to go too crazy... i know WI copers can be pretty harsh but was just wondering if there were a couple places anyone knew of that they seem to camp out at frequently, mile markers, whatever. lol. just testing out to see how this post will go :cssNET:
jon_0_3 03-22-2007, 11:21 AM the cops arent too bad here i have been pulled over 8 times with 1 ticket. i have been pulled over by state trooper different county sharefs and the locals. only the local gave me the ticket. every time i had my licence and registration out the window ready for them and didnt play stupid
tygRacer 03-22-2007, 11:29 AM nice. buddy lives in madison and is deathly afraid of the cops... haha, but then again, you should see him around spiders...
shabodah 03-22-2007, 11:31 AM I've driven between Eau Claire and Racine a lot, so I know the route pretty good. Usually, you see some cars just south of Eau Claire, around the Osseo exit, then you are ok till between Tomah and Oakdale, the Dells is bad in Summer, but probably ok at this point, then watch at the 90/94 split at Madison, and you're ok until about Waukesha.
portergraph 03-22-2007, 11:33 AM It seems that every time we go to Dells, I see at LEAST 2 cops in the medians between the trees. You can always tell where the trooper cut-throughs are a ways in advance... plus there's usually a good number of lead foots on I90/94...

tygRacer 03-27-2007, 11:14 AM ALRIGHT! haha score one for the good guys! my new radar detect (escort 9500i) picked off her first copper this morning on the way to work, as i drove by the trap i was like a proud daddy. ;) felt good to "stick it to the man!"
making the trip in 4 days, and have gotten some good info here... i'll have to post any info i learned from the trip after! :cssNET:

FinalBreath 03-27-2007, 03:44 PM Just watch out for the state troopers, there not very leaniant. Should be clear sailing until waukesha, and Milwaukee county, then sheriffs all over.
Cobalt_SSTuner 03-27-2007, 03:54 PM nice. buddy lives in madison and is deathly afraid of the cops... haha, but then again, you should see him around spiders...
hey spiders are scary, no if's and's or but's about that.
Just watch out for the state troopers, there not very leaniant. Should be clear sailing until waukesha, and Milwaukee county, then sheriffs all over.
The troopers have a tendency to sit on the on ramp and get people. Especially in the waukesha/Pewaukee area.

that reminds me ...im going to get a smaller banner made up for my car.. its going to say
I SUPPORT POLICE...brutality
BoltZ22 03-28-2007, 11:02 PM my parents neighbor is a county cop.
he told me, that the state of wisconsin will get a nice big grant if they really crack down on speeding. they have to hit a quota to get it and they're suppose to pull over anyone going over the speed limit. my parents neighbor usually won't pull you over unless your doing 10 mph over and even then he's reluctant to give you a ticket unless you have butt loads of priors. now he has to give tickets to anyone going at least 5 mph over. just an FYI.
03supercharged 03-29-2007, 10:35 PM Watch out for troopers around the 94/494 woodbury area, they are always pulling people over in this area, and theres always one under the bridge at manning ave.
tygRacer 04-02-2007, 07:03 PM TO ALL:
you guys are awesome! trip was great... was actually going quite a bit faster with a altima 3.2... lol. he couldn't handle our 3rd gear...  :twothumbs: he kept trying though...  :guns:
yeah cops were in wauk... and i even got lasered at one point in time! detector picked her up though... i was so proud... ;)
about halfway though for quite a ways... nothing, no cops, troops, nothing, really quite. so that was nice.
to those who are ever interested... i found a site last friday that was kinda cool. http://www.speedtrap.org/ it shows a listing by county of all the known traps in the area. completely posted by independant persons....
THANKS!:cssNET:
