CleanNFun 03-27-2007, 05:55 PM No third brake light :O. Isn't that illegal on newer cars? Thatd be a pain to put one in, or make your own I guess.
REIGN SS 03-27-2007, 08:53 PM No third brake light :O. Isn't that illegal on newer cars? Thatd be a pain to put one in, or make your own I guess.
Just stick an red LED strip in your back window and wire it into the brake lights and call it a day
SS SCHGD 03-27-2007, 09:39 PM No third brake light :O. Isn't that illegal on newer cars? Thatd be a pain to put one in, or make your own I guess.
I was wondering about this also, I'd like a trunk lid that will accept a 3rd brake light. I'm sure I'm already going to be illegal enough...
Xcelerated Concepts 03-27-2007, 10:13 PM Unfortantely we will not be making changes to accomodate the 3rd brake light.
blktrax 03-27-2007, 10:21 PM Weight? (how was it measured with or with out trunk lock+release hardware)
CF vs. Stock no wing deck.
Less weight = more happy
Third Brake light in North Carolina = If its there it has to work, if it aint there.... doesnt count.
R&C_rallySS 03-27-2007, 10:27 PM Yes, please PM me and I will price out a combo package with shipping for you.
That sounds like a neat idea. How about if I wanted to buy a CF hood, CF trunk, and the CF center wing? Would you be able to cut a even better deal?

Yes, it would be very helpful to know the weight. How much less is it. I'm sure its just a small ammount but it would be really great to know a figure. I'm all about specs.
Xcelerated Concepts 03-27-2007, 10:34 PM I'm not exactly sure what the stock weight is, but our CF trunk is approx 10lbs. I've been told that it is quite a substantial difference.
black06ss 03-27-2007, 10:37 PM im going to have to talk to the wife and see if she is fine with this but im pretty sure im getting atleast the trunk.
blktrax 03-27-2007, 10:43 PM North Carolina ONLY, check local inspection laws about your third brake light.

What about gas mileage minus the wing and the weight? Has anyone thought about maybe getting a third break light from one of the cavalier models that are equipped with the rear window unit?

R&C_rallySS 03-27-2007, 11:53 PM Wow only 10 lbs, I bet the wing on the SS is at least 20 lbs? Anyone know SS trunk weight?
LOL, the wing does not weigh 20 pounds. I could be wrong but it sure feels much lighter then that....
I would bet the SS/SC trunk weighs in at or around 30 pounds with wing.

oldsskool 03-28-2007, 11:16 PM Honestly, I just want to put in some good words for these guys! I have been in and out of money for the last couple of months and I have really busted their balls with asking for prices on combos and such during times where I should have money coming in. They have always been AMAZING to me and it sure does seem like they are willing to go above and WAY beyond the call of duty to make their clients happy! Id love to say Im going to get a combo but I dont want to get my hopes up until the money is in hand and I can freely part with it..

Sounds good Martin, keep me posted.
I have a sedan trunk sitting here in my garage which I will use to take some underside pics of later today. Is there something you guys are looking for specifically? The underside looks much like the OE structure. All of our inner frames have more than 95% of the OE frame structure still in place to ensure a solid finished product.

Most will probably want to see the boundary between the CF and the fiberglass (I'm assuming this isn't CF on both sides), as well as maybe an iso shot of the structure to get an idea of material thickness. Also, is it set up to take the trunk liner from the stock lids, or would holes need to be drilled for that?
takes5tries 04-06-2007, 10:56 AM Just received my CF trunk yesterday
Awesome nice doing business with you guys. ill be sure to order from you again

R&C_rallySS 04-06-2007, 03:35 PM Is it a hard task to add your stock wing to the trunk? Just drill holes into the CF trunk and add the stock wing, is it that simple?

why would u want the stock wing back on
and i dont thing it would be a good idea would add to much stress on the truck i think
07MetallicSC 04-06-2007, 05:40 PM You can add the stock wing back onto the truck without problems, just take your time drilling and make sure its on a 60* + temp day and drill slowly!
See playswitcars for more info...
