Temporary Tags in NJ??

I'm looking to buy a car out of state, but obviously can't register it and get plates until I have the title. I was wondering if there was any way to go to the DMV in NJ with a Vin# to get a temporary tag just to drive it home with the title, and then register the vehicle once I have it in NJ with the title. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

If you know someone who owns like a used car dealership, or maybe you could even go to one, they might sell you one.

A buddy of mine has a friend who owns a small dealership, and we bought a temp tag from him for 50 bucks. The only thing is that it's under the dealerships insurance so you have to know the person really well or they have to be a moron.
