Misinformed folks on the Acura Forum...

Well I am wanting to get rid of my balt and have been lurking around the Acura Tl forum because I am contemplating getting one of those because I really like the looks of them and its a honda so it should be more reliable than my car which is the most important thing to me right now. I saw a thread where someone had raced a Cobalt SS and there are some clueless people on there who dont know what they are talking about....

See for yourself...

http://tl.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=156211

BTW that is not my dyno it is someone else's Stage 2 dyno from this site but it serves the purpose well enough...

Eh, I didn't think that they were THAT mis-informed. Alot of what they said made sence. But of course there were the few "It's nothing but a Cavalier with a S/C!" people. I love those guys. There's a few uneducated haters in every forum.

The thing that was funny to me was how ignorant some of them are about what the horsepower the manufacturor(sp?) says a car has and what it actually has to the wheels (in the cobalts case it is in our favor) thats the point i was trying to get across...

So he was clost to 80 MPH and already in 4th? I'm barely out of second at that speed . Plus, there's no mention that he actually was racing a SS/SC. It as prob just a SS.

Doesn't really sound like it was a race by any means. Just possibly an over priced ricer fly by.

The TL is not a slow car stock for stock it would probably be a good close race with a SC (STOCK)...and I am referring to the tl 6 speed i dont even research the auto (all magazine comparos i have found with the tl have been the 6 speed version). The tl that raced the "alleged stage 2 superchaged cobalt" was a freaking auto...thats why i keep wanting to raise that big bullshit flag...but anyways maybe the dude driving the balt weighed like 400 pds and took 10 seconds to shift every time...oh and he said he was in 4th going 80...uhh in an auto if youre givin er hell it shouldnt be in fourth going 80 i wouldnt think...

whatever though...dousche bags...hopefully I can find a better tl forum if i get one

The TL is a nice car, even the 3.2 auto has a good bit of power. My brother just bought one. NICE car, to me, it is at the low end of "luxary" cars. I fell thats its worth the $35K it costs.

The TL has an autostick function, which holds the selected gear, so 80 in forth is possible. If its stock, the autostick laggs about 2 seconds, literally. I am not kidding. I was in one yesturday.

Be aware is requires 91 octane fuel. As gas prices climb be prepared.

I dont like them even if I could afford one, just because they are so close to the honda, and If I want luxury I don't want honda.

I thought they were pretty civil about it but I thought the one guys comment on how much
stage 2 cost for 750 and only gives you 45hp was crazy.LOL what other bolt on is gonna
give you that much power for the dollar.

That guy is a ****** cause he raced with his son in the car. If someone in this forum raced with a child in the car would be ******* flammed and banned and killed on this forum, what a ******. The biggest thing that someone could do is say no, and get respect for not racing but putting a childs life in danger is plain old stupid and he should lose his liscence and get his dick cut off...

A few months back Car and Driver took the Cobalt SS SC to Virginia Int'l Raceway with a number of other cars. The Cobalt had a quicker time than the Civic Si, VW GTI, and even a Mustang GT. I found that quite impressive. They should have the article up on the website by now. When looking to defend the Cobalt against the ignorant, that should be a good place to start.
