anyone else w/ stage 2 get a considerable drop in mpg?

I got my stage 2 in last week, and now my car is a total gas hog. And I'm not boosting any more than I did before. I was getting around 25 in town, sometimes more, now I'm lucky to hit 18. What the hell? I had the dealer do it...does the car need to get used to it? Does it need a different tune? I've searched and it seems most people are getting about the same, if not better mpg with stage 2.

At first I was getting really bad mpg also. I'm back up to 24-26 normal driving. IMO my prob had to do with the weather. Colder it was the worse mpg I was getting. Do you need a pil change and oil fiter change? Maybe fuel filter, air filter? Try all those and see if it makes a differance. Also check your tire pressure. Make all 4 tires are 32 or so lbs.

Your car most likely did not get the reflash. Take it back to the dealer for the tune.

Mine stayed the same or actually went up after I installed the stage 2.

I average 28.7 mpg.

So... you probably didnt get tuned.
Can you run the tach up to 7k?

you need to consider that most people that are saying they are getting 28 through the low 30's are more than likely doing alot of highway driving in 5th gear more than likely....I drive more in my town with regular stops and what not shift at 3500-4500 and i get 21 mpg....which is actually better than what i got when i was stock....I think its hilarious how you buy a kit to get more ponies out of your car and then you want better gas mileage....sounds crazy to me man...

it sounds like you need to get it flashed properly.
if your boost isnt increased there is definately a problem

and since the kit comes with bigger injectors....its not surprising your gas milage went to ****.
most people get a slight increase in mileage or no change at all, with a correctly installed stage 2

Is your RPM redline lifted to 7k now?
thats the easiest way to check.

Yes, my redline is at 7k.
I have a new AEM filter, and just got an oil/filter change 45 miles ago.
No, I haven't been driving it any different than before.
It has been somewhat chilly the past week, but not below freezing.
Yes, I want more ponies without a huge drop in mpg...is that a crime?

I must have gotten the reflash, cause I'm boosting the right amount and my redline is where it should be. I don't really get it, but maybe it'll get better.

No it won't most likely...just reset your mpg thing...and try to drive it not so fast. I get 26 mpg with stage 2 on mine.

I went from like 27MPG city stock to 25MPG city with Stage 2. Not a big drop... but if I'm driving hard and really on it... I can see the gas gauge drop, so yeah, Stage 2 will eat the gas when you are on it.

Ever since I bought mine with stage 2 already installed by the previous owner's dealership, I have yet to see 23mpg or higher. I normally stay around 22mpg.

But I drive like an *******....
