The only thing you need are the valve springs from bates. Nothing else is needed.

He's going to want to make sure that there's going to be fuel at 8000 RPM, increased boost will be realized. He'll obviously want to go get a tune then and possibly larger injectors...

Springs and retainers. You may need balance shafts. Search. Without cams for that RPM range, power may not necessarily be made.

Valve springs, more agressive camshafts, ported head for sure, free flowing exhaust, bigger injectors, and not a too small supercharger pulley cause it will spin waaaay too fast.

Not necessarily an aggressive camshaft. It mainly has a pattern ground into it for the given RPM range. Most likely custom ground....

Ugh, Tune it to 7,000 and ditch the SC for a turbo.

How about reading the 300+HP LSJ Buildup GM did? There just might be all the info you need in there.

Valve springs is all thats needed. However you would be slower shifting at 8k than 7 or 7200. No power to be made that high up. Get cams that can produce power that high then you might get some use out of them.

hp=torque*rpm/5252

the only way to increase horsepower is to increase torque or have more revs..
that is why and the benefits

I can see the good on a N/A engine(with other airflow mods)... but, is it really beneficial with the "stock" supercharger to spin it to 8000?

Really valve springs would be all you need to get that high. To make it worth your wild, a custom ground cam shafts that could make power that high is needed. But if your going to be changing your cams and springs, you might as well build the whole engine. Plus you really want to make sure your engine can flow enough to make it worth it.

So a full valve train able to handle .5" of lift, custom cams with .5" of lift, the +1 valves, a high flowing head (especially on the exhaust side) that maintained roughly .5 turbulence on the intake valves flow, rods and pistons (hey, got it apart already), and a very free flowing exhaust (I'd get it ceramic coated too).

Gotta make sure you got big enough injectors, and if you are using 60's, a custom fuel system to make sure they #4 doesn't lean out.

2.9" pulley at the absolute smallest. I personally would also get the supercharger ported and polished and add every cooling mod.

Finish it all off with a conservative dyno tune, followed by road tuning to the most aggressive I could get it, then turn everything down a notch or two. Gotta leave some wiggle room for changing weather conditions and such.
