07 shorty antenna

I know the shorty antenna subject has been beat to death as I have sifted through tons of pages of searches. So yes I'm aware of the 6mm 05-06 1/2 stud compared to the 7mm 07 stud. I was wondering if anyone has bought one off ebay recently for an 07 and actually got the right adapter and did it fit? and how did it look with the adapter? Or has anyone found another good alternative such as the 8" corvette one that fits the 05-06 that would fit an 07? I'm almost leaning towards the corvette one and drilling and tapping it to fit.

yes, I have the 8 inch corvett antenna, and it looks great. Got to http:www.mamotorworks.com and search for part number 612-431. click on exterior for search
$19.99 + shipping. Deffently worth it. I think so.

would this be the same issue? if so does that mean that i have an 07's base post?
