Hey MRZ,

I would love a sexy, one-piece billet bowtie for the front of my car. Anyone else? If so post, and let's show MRZ there is some interest :twothumbs

Hah looks like we're the only ones. Maybe I should have posted this in the Appearance forum, gotten some peeps on board and then suggested it to MRZ... lol.

We will take your project into consideration and we had other members asking for the billet bowties so this would be something possible. As soon as we have some spare time(pretty rare right now) we'll take a closer look at it :cssNET:

Thank for your interest in our products and for submitting your idea :twothumbs

Actually I would like to see the park break lever. Now that would be sweet as the one in our cars is soooo bulky.

I was waiting for one but I decided to wrap my in carbon fiber instead.

I'm waiting for the brushed strut bar to come out although if they did a group buy on the polished version I'd be all over that. :) (hint hint)

I'd also like to see some really cool billet pedals. I have some Tenzo R pedals but the quality on this is sucky.

Pedals would be pretty sweet as well. I'd be up for both the bowtie and a set of pedals. :twothumbs

I'll probably just end up painting mine. A billet bowtie would probably end up being way too pricey to justify at this point.

ooo.. if they came out with one that looked exactly like stock (3d) and i could have them engrave SS in it i would be down. The 24 desgins ones look sorta odd flat

We are not going to produce th billet front bowties due to several reason, the most obvious would be the cost since this is a 3D piece and it would require a lot of machining and finishing to be perfect. We're sorry about it, I would have like to help you more with this situation but be sure we keep putting effort on making new stuff for the Cobalt owners ;)

so basically, you're not going to make anything worth a shit? Just fuse block covers and door sill plates?

I don't think it needs to be Billet... but something to replace the stock piece of crap would be nice.

This is what mine looks like with the Gold Piece missing (it fell off)... it looks good, IMO. But up close... it looks like shit because of the crappy quality... and it's not made to be on top. That ugly Gold Bow-Tie is.

all the stuff mrz makes is really nice stuff.. our bow ties are kinda complex bein there not like the ones on the chevy trucks which are flat. basically what they are sayin is that it would take to much of an investment in man time and machine work to make it worth them selling..

Its just basic economics, thats all.

yellowltcoupe22
04-04-2008, 10:36 PM
yeah its just not worth the money they would have to put in it. but to say they dont make anythin worth a shit isnt right cuz they make some of the best quality stuff you can buy. and some of its functions just as well as it looks (ie the strut tower brace).. btw thanks for the group buy on that mrz...

who said it had to be 3d? i'd settle for a flat one like the ones on the trucks. in fact it would probably look better. Considering theres a billet bow tie made for a chevy truck that consumers obviously purchase since i see about a dozen of them a day, i fail to see how it wouldnt be "worth the money" to make one for a cobalt.

I guess thats just my opinion. If door sill plates, oil caps, and injector covers are working for you, then more power to ya.

He kinda has a point...wouldn't a "billet" bowtie pretty much work on any newer chevy with the gold bowtie(s)...?

Well, in review....maybe there aren't that many apps for a 3D (?) version....

yellowltcoupe22
04-06-2008, 09:08 PM
the ones on the trucks are way bigger and they are flat.. they could make a flat one for the balt but flat just doesnt look as good as the 3d one..

04-06-2008, 09:45 PM
it would look better than whats on it.

yellowltcoupe22

well ask for a flat one then. im pretty sure that they have thought everyone wanted one that was 3d like the orignal bowtie.
