Exclamation Check out this oil filter (56k beware)

I just changed this filter(20,000 km at 5000 km intervals )and Just want to show this.
The filter was purchased from Napa and I left it with the parts supplier so they can give me a answer.
When I removed the oil filter cap it was not attached to it like it is normally and must of been spinning around in the reservoir.
What do you guys think, inferior product, or is are oil pressure that high .

^I just used Fram last night; it was the first time I changed my oil (the rest were free from the dealership). Hope this one doesn't turn out like that lol.

I've been using Fram every oil change and I have never had a filter look like that. I havent' changed the oil every 3k miles either, I follow the oil life meter on the DIC, so I usually change it around 5-6k.

I use amsoil filters. They have a 45 micron filter element. I check mines out before and it's still in good condition.

interesting what was the part number?
was it a napa gold or pro select? or nascar? I have never seen an oil filter look like that before you should take it to your local napa and get a warrenty.

The filter was prbably not installed correctly, oil pressure wouldn't do that. It looks like it was crushed.

I can tell you for sure it was installed properly, threaded in by hand most of the way in.And the filter clips into the cap pretty hard it requires force to pull it off.
Also there isnt enough room when inserted to put it in wrong, you would not be able to start the threads without the point and O-ring dropping in the proper spot.

I did it myself and the first few oil changes I used oem filters and this did not happen.

Its easier to change if u ask me... less time and less mess. it took like 10 or 15 minutes to change my oil the first time i did it.
