I cleaned my ride with Meguiars NXT Wax and a claybar
OOH I am so happy, it took my like 6 hours but I did it and this thing is very clean now. So I took some quick shots tonight before I went in after I finished I know its dark out but I just had to. I will take some more tommorrow. It's beautiful, that Claybar really does clean the paint and the NXT wax is like tons of butter. Tell me what you think, again i will put up new photos of it tommorrow provided it doesn't do anything stupid like rain.

Very nice im also an NXT tech wax user and love it!!! If I may offer one little bit of advice use the tire shine you have on the tires and spray the inside of the fender wells. It will give it a much cleaner look to compliment your hard work

They seem to be unavoidable with the paint on these Cobalts. I've owned 5 black cars (two right now) and 2 dark blue cars. I've never had an issue with swirls until I got this Cobalt. I do the same thing I always have (clean paint, polish, wax). Our BMW doesn't have this problem.
Anyone says they don't have swirls, put a quartz light on the car. That is what I use when waxing so I can see every scratch.
I'm painting mine next spring (son is graduating next month and want to fix up the AED Grand Am GT).

My State doesn't need them, and the damn dealership I got the car from puts them in anyways because we are so close to Virginia that they have people coming over here to buy them. I need to find something to do with those holes.
Dude like I said earlier, use your tire shine and spray it in the fender wells and voila!!!! it will look great
please dont use dishsoap unless you are fully aware that you are stripping any and all forms of protection off your clearcoat.
dishsoap is only good if your deliberately stripping it to claybar, or something of that nature....and plan on waxing your entire car again.

Speaking of the front license plate, what's the best way to fill in those holes and what is the best way to take it off? I thought it was just screwed on, but it's riveted, so do I just have to drill them out? Am I pretty much going to have to fill in the holes and repaint it? I live in TX now (where front plates are required) and am moving back to Michigan later this summer (where front plates are NOT required) and can't wait to take that stupid plate off. I wanted to tell the dealer not to put it on because I knew I was moving, but I forgot. Thanks.
I actually saw the NXT product on the shelf of a local store and I was wondering how good it was. Looks like it turned out awesome man.
Question for everyone: I have a new car and it's only a few weeks old. Any problems with doing a wax on it soon? I didn't opt for the dealer "clear coat protection" package, so I figured I better get some wax on it ASAP.
