It seems most of what I find on here about brake up grading is about the SS. I would like to up grade the LS, you know the other model Cobalt. Anyone have a link where I could get them now? Thanks 05SDI

View Full Version : Brake upgrades for the LS? (NOT THE SS!) 05SDI 09-17-2005, 04:38 AM It seems most of what I find on here about brake up grading is about the SS. Thanks 05SDI 05OrangeSS 09-17-2005, 03:47 PM Stainless Steel Brakes has a kit for the LS as well I believe the exact part number is A163-6 for the front kit and A163-7 for the rear kit. PM me cause I can probably get them cheaper for you(i work there). Halfcent 09-17-2005, 06:12 PM SSBC and RSM both have brake kits for the 4x100 bolt patterns tiny 09-17-2005, 07:35 PM i wish there were just brake pad upgrades, i dont feel like spending $800 on front and rear brakes i just want some better stopping power 05OrangeSS 09-18-2005, 01:19 AM i suggest getting slotted rotors with Hawk pads. They are probably the BEST pad made in my opinion. If your going to "upgrade" Hawk pads are the best for the money. The HPS are a ferrocarbon composite and are SOOOO much better. LOL, yeah ceramic pads, ferrocarbon, kevlar pads are great but no matter what they claim, those types of brake pads are more for track use than daily driver use (HAWK even states it on their website). They bite down on rotors hard but will wear them out a lot faster than some good semi metallic pads. I feel that semi metallic brake pads are best for daily driver use, as they last longer, are rotor friendly, grip the rotors better than stock pads, and emit little dust. An marked improvement over OEM anyways. But to each his own. 05OrangeSS 09-18-2005, 02:15 PM The HPS Hawk's aren't just for track use. It's their street use compound, it's all we sell at SSBC due to the fact they are high quality although they leave an insane amount of brake dust under HEAVY braking. |
