Can any one tell me if ther3 is a posi unit available for the cobalt SS?

Posi, no. There is a limited slip available from Quaife. Do you have the SS or the SS/SC?

Yes there is, they come stock on g85 package cobalt ss/sc, and you can buy them from quiafe, and obx makes one on ebay.

Yeah it's listed on Quaife has them for $995.00. It is the gear type that doesn't have wearing parts.

I'm pretty sure that the SS/SC s w/o the g85 package on it have posi traction because they definately dont have limited slip.......

^ ^ No they have an open differential. If it was posi on a FWD vehicle you wouldn't be able to turn the wheel.

Open differential only one wheel would spin; correct? i.e. a mid 90's honda? when i burn the tires in the waterbox, i leave both tire marks.......(i'm honestly not argueing, just trying to gain some knowledge)(?).........

Yes, with an open diff when you spin your tires only one is actually spinning.

An all along I thought I was actaully spinning both


Oh well know I know, here's another question though? How much better is the LSD than the open diff.; does it really hook up that much better?

I haven't heard of it hooking up better in a straight line, but in turns it makes a world of difference. I can't hardly touch the throttle in a turn with out the car breaking loose, while Blown 4-banger can mash the pedal in a turn and pull through. I have only intake and exhaust w/o LSD and Blown 4-banger has a 2.6", intake, exhaust, header, ect. w/ LSD.
