View Full Version : Meguiars NXT paste wax mike25 04-29-2007, 04:41 PM what do you all think of it?.....is it worth it?....and which is better...the pate or the liquid wax? cobi 04-29-2007, 11:31 PM NXT wax is def worth it however I've never used the paste only the liquid. In my experience liquids are usually easier to work with and provide equal results. StinkBOMB 04-29-2007, 11:34 PM I use it on my car, it definitely does a good job. Now my turtle wax Ice polish on the other hand not so much. j4s0nmuzik 04-29-2007, 11:36 PM just go through using Nxt tech wax the liquid version, that was my first time and its really easy to work with. Very nice, I will not go back to regular Meguiars wax except to wax my wheels. StinkBOMB 04-29-2007, 11:39 PM I should note that I actually have both a bottle of it and the paste wax. When I'm in a hurry I just slap a coat of the liquid on, when I decide I'm in the mood to slow things down, I use the paste. an0malous 04-29-2007, 11:40 PM liquids are easy to apply. and look great. but they dont last nearly as long on your paint. cea2488 04-30-2007, 03:17 PM I've never used the NXT... I still have 1 1/2 Gold Class containers left... I wanna get the NXT next time though, especially since the thing it comes in looks so bright and pretty lmao. KillerNutz 04-30-2007, 03:21 PM I have the NXT paste, and its amazing! I have done side by side comparosins with all of my friends different waxes, and they all agree the NXT is the best we can find. I also recommend the paste over the liquid if you have the time. Much deeper shine, and lasts longer. martinsmu 04-30-2007, 03:23 PM I used to use turle ICE wax, hahaha Meguires NXT does not compare. NXT is ssssooooo much better. Brought my GF's scratched 02 deawoo to a nice deep shine. Brought my car looking like new. Deff recommended. Buy paste, its preatty easy to work with and a last longer on the paint!! PS I bought the polish, not the wax in paste format. Works wonders! hedlesshorsmenss 04-30-2007, 03:30 PM definatley worth the cash. the only better stuff you can find, youd have to have a detailers license for. i also have the paste and liquid, go with paste. imo Evolvr2006 04-30-2007, 03:37 PM I posted it somewhere else but: Paste>Liquid>Spray It really depends on how anal you are about your paint and it's appearence to notice the difference between some of the brands. I only use http://www.autopia-carcare.com/p21-127.html P21S, but I've heard good things about the NXT stuff. xspyder85x 04-30-2007, 03:41 PM i just used the liquid and it works soo well. i love it and its incredibly easy to use. katie 04-30-2007, 04:02 PM NXT wax is def worth it however I've never used the paste only the liquid. In my experience liquids are usually easier to work with and provide equal results. Agreed. I only use the NXT wax. mike25 04-30-2007, 10:45 PM well i believe im going with the paint...because it will do a better job than the liquid.... how long doe the paste take to put on compared to the liquid wax?...and also should i still use scratchx before i put the wax on there or does it take care of it? Evolvr2006 04-30-2007, 11:19 PM well i believe im going with the paint...because it will do a better job than the liquid.... how long doe the paste take to put on compared to the liquid wax?...and also should i still use scratchx before i put the wax on there or does it take care of it? Depends on the wax. The wax I use goes on REALLY easy. Ask Stinkbomb, i was helping him with his hood tonight. Wax will not do anything for swirls, it's not an abrasive. Use a polish before the wax in order to get swirls out. bandicoot 05-01-2007, 12:23 AM I used meg's colorX and then NXT liquid on my moms caravan today, my arms are sore as hell, but it looks real nice n shiney. :) I need to try out the paste when I run out. cobi 05-01-2007, 08:56 AM I used meg's colorX and then NXT liquid on my moms caravan today, my arms are sore as hell, but it looks real nice n shiney. :) I need to try out the paste when I run out. sound like you need a PC DA polisher too:lol: biniecki 05-01-2007, 10:20 AM Just a quick question. I like the Turtle Wax ICE because it doesnt leave that nasty white residue on the body seams; does the NXT leave any of that or is it like the ICE cobi 05-01-2007, 10:48 AM Just a quick question. I like the Turtle Wax ICE because it doesnt leave that nasty white residue on the body seams; does the NXT leave any of that or is it like the ICE I havent had any trouble with build-up from NXT unless I apply too much product. Also if you use a microfiber to take the wax off it traps all that build-up instead of pushing it around like a terry cloth. roccobladr 05-01-2007, 10:51 AM ive been using it since i bought my car. i love it! i just bought the NXT tire shine. not as good as i thought it would be though. bandicoot 05-01-2007, 06:48 PM sound like you need a PC DA polisher too:lol: lol that would be nice *adds to shopping list* biniecki 05-02-2007, 06:17 PM Anyone have before and after pics or even comparison pics? cobi 05-02-2007, 06:21 PM off subject but biniecki are your calipers color-matched with the body? If so do you have some close up pics and how did you do it? biniecki 05-02-2007, 07:08 PM Actually its not body matched but it is close. Basically all i prepped it and all that good stuff and then used high temp chevy orange engine paint as a base/primer and then went over that with burnt metallic orange duplicolor paint and it turned out pretty good. The only kind of close-up i have is this pic of when it was actually kinda dirty. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v426/killazincorp/My%20Cobalt/NewRims004.jpg?t=1178143675 06VMI06 05-03-2007, 10:41 PM ok so i got some wax on the plastic part of my side mirror i dono must have missed it when i was buffing how the fuck do i get that shit off....ahhh cobi 05-03-2007, 10:53 PM ok so i got some wax on the plastic part of my side mirror i dono must have missed it when i was buffing how the fuck do i get that shit off....ahhh I know this sounds weird but peanut butter, specifically the oil on top of the peanut butter will do the trick. But if your looking for something else try a plastic detailer/cleaner like Meguiars tech protect or mothers back to black. Oh and I have heard that those Mr. Clean Magic Eraser things work also:twothumbs halfj99 05-03-2007, 11:04 PM wow that guy killed my thunder /\ the black bumpy stuff? i heard club soda work http://www.drugstore.com/qxp146253_334918_sespider/mr__clean/magic_eraser.htm i read on another fourm that /\ works peanut butter and a tooth brush, scrubbing the pb into the white spot with the toothbrush, then cleaning it of course..same with dawn (and i imagine other brand) dish soap keep in mind ive never done this, never had too...just things i found on other fourms 06VMI06 05-03-2007, 11:11 PM wow that guy killed my thunder /\ the black bumpy stuff? i heard club soda work http://www.drugstore.com/qxp146253_334918_sespider/mr__clean/magic_eraser.htm i read on another fourm that /\ works peanut butter and a tooth brush, scrubbing the pb into the white spot with the toothbrush, then cleaning it of course..same with dawn (and i imagine other brand) dish soap keep in mind ive never done this, never had too...just things i found on other fourms sorry to kill your thunder... yea i just got sloppy...bleh thanks for the tips yall ill make her sparkle and throw some pics up when this rain stops halfj99 05-03-2007, 11:14 PM good luck, if you use the peanut butter...im going to suggest creamy :) |
