Interesting Hood

saw this on an SRT.

"Perforated Hood"

very interesting. Cant get much better airflow than that.
I love the "ghosted" look you get of the engine.

I think that would look more interesting with a more exotic color scheme....and god forbid a rock pops up from the road and hits that hood

I didn't call BS, I just said it "looks" photoshopped. I have seen it on many other cars before, but something about that looked fake to me.

Dude, that effect has been used over and over again in photoshop, so its hard to believe that hood is real.

I did some searching and found that perforated hoods are real, but was only able to come across these pics, which are nowhere near as see-through as the original pics:

My call: see-through perforated hoods are real, but the top pics are fake.

Even if I look like an idiot to anamolous. :P

By the way the hood is $750 @ griptuning.com

That would be cool if it was the same color as the car. But like some one else said, what about rain/snow?

exactly? jk

Dont get all bothered by it. Maybe I'm wrong. It's no big deal. lol

By the way what swayed me was the amount of moire in the pics from griptuning, and the lack thereof in the pics of the silver car. BUT!! I'm dropping this already. lol

it looks pretty sick IMO. don't know if i would ever buy one, and they're probably pretty hard to find (and make!).

i don't know how much it would kill aerodynamics, because you've still got a (semi) solid surface over the engine, so part of the air will form an air layer within the mesh, while the rest of the air flows over that. and you get the added benefit of great cooling, plus all the built up air pressure that's usually under the hood gets vented out the top!

you'de think that it would dent pretty easy... if you took it to a show and had a model there would be ass indents all over the hood

those are called 'battle scars' and the car should wear them proudly.

That's pretty sweet. I wish they made something like that for our Cobalts.
