The SRT-4 Clutch they came out with including flywheel was 599.00 retail not sure what a vendor will be able to do on it. Hopefully we can get some interest and they will get on to R and D a clutch for us.

I would be MUCH happier with a damn good clutch kit that went for that price for our cars. Hell, we options do we have now, Bully, Excedy, Clutchmasters (lol)??? The best one on that list right there IMO is the Excedy and that clutch with flywheel is over a grand...The ACT Clutches are supposed to be pretty nice too. Please keep us posted for sure

ACT owns at a very good price, i dont think many can compete especially for the price. i had one in my cavalier and i couldnt burn it if i tried, even a rookie driver couldnt burn it up. not even get it hot. lol awsome clutch if they make it i'd get one, dont like the stock clutch much. i wish they made one for my ls1 but they dont.

I'd definitely be interested in one when/if my stocker goes out (currently @ 17k miles and no probs yet--of course, i don't street race and i've only dumped the clutch 3 times for smokeshows to show that it's NOT a cavalier :P)--i definitely want one in the next calendar year so I can put my flywheel in that's been sitting in storage waiting for the clutch to go bad--I'm hoping to knock a second or two off my lap times with the clutch/flywheel combo and DOT slick tires (Kumho Ecsta V710). ACT would be preferable to the other companies.

Guys/Girls here is the latest on the Clutch.

"We do have a part in development for the Cobalt SS which will be a
replacement for the factory self-adjusting clutch but I currently do not
have an E.T.A. for it.

Well here is the second email from Richard

"No problem. What we are working on for the Cobalt SS will actually get
rid of the factory self adjusting pressure plate and dual mass flywheel.
From a performance point of view there is no real gain from using the
self-adjusting clutch and from a performance clutch manufacturer stand
point the factory unit is an absolute nightmare. Check these links for a
better explanation of what your car comes with:

One of the biggest hurdles we are having right now is trying to acquire
the transmission out of a Cobalt SS. We need it for measurements and
clearances since we are doing a conversion. We had a line on one, then
it fell through.

Richard Barzaghi

Just so everyone is aware Fidanza and Centerforce are both also coming out with clutch kits as well. I am waiting for the centerforce as there setups are the best out there and I have run many without a single problem.

I believe Centerforce clutch is already out, although you MUST buy their flywheel to use it. I was checking around on their website the other day.

I still want this ACT clutch. My friends subie feels amazing with it, although the pedal is considerably firmer.

I just checked that is for the 2.2L only and not the SS on the centerforce.
