Fuel Economy

Hey Guys,

I'm considering buying a Cobalt cause I want a new car and I like the ECOTEC! I was looking through the paper and the GM ads say it gets 43mpg on the highway and 29 mpg in the city but yet when I looked at fueleconomy.gov (US gov't site) it says different numbers. I also looked into the Canadian Gov't equivalent of Fueleconomy.gov (same results as GMcanada) and I'm guessing we measure our cars a different way. What is everyone else getting on their 2.2?

I think that 43 MPG was a typo. It should be 34. Im getting around 20 MPG in all city traffic.

3 typos I don't think its a mistake...
-GM ads in major Canadian newspaper
-Gov't of Canada
-GMCanada.com

all say 43mpg Auto and 48 mpg for the manual 2.2

My last tank of gas I was driving like it was stolen and was getting 11.8liters/100kms. Now I'm driving 'responsibly' just to see the difference and getting 9.5liters/100kms with a new tank of gas. Always 91octane. Its the highest I can get around here.

all we have to do is go into the computer and switch from metric to standard and we get the exact same reading you guys do.
