It was pretty sweet to see our car in a game, and the developer says that the customazation will be able to trick it out like your own. The game comes out later this year, and I for one will have it day one, just to drive our car and loose the fuzz in a chase!! :cssNET:

I just finished midnight club 3 100% and this was the next game I was looking foward to. I love how they're bringing back the cops, and this time its not just them chasing you, but I heard they will even break off the chase if the cops think it's too dangerous to the bystanders in the area. Whats the release date? I think I need to reserve it still.

I was told some time in november this year. but I think its gonna get delayed just like all the other games. so probly like late December or some time in January.

in nfs hot pursuit you know the really old one lol if you could get away from them long enough they would call off the pursuit lol o the memories

It shouldn't be delayed at this point. It already is close to being done, with just a few tweeks to it. I played it a convention this week and the cops chasing was way cool. They increadsed the their presence and you can evade them by taking alternate paths or crashing into cars and making them block the road.

Its also sweet b/c as you move up the "most wanted" list, you will need to alter the appereance of your cars to keep the cops from recognizing you.

Nothing was better than beating a M3 and RX8 off the line!!!

So is this game going to be pretty much like NFS: Underground?

Street racing in a city setting? If so, what systems is it coming out on?

Im sure it will be on ps2 and x box almost all games are but dont quote me i could be wrong i have a ps2 so if its not on that i will be PISSED lol

I really miss the old, good NFS games like Porsche Unleashed or High Stakes. The Underground series sucked... if I wanted to street race with a tuner I'd take my Cobalt out and rev near some asian rice rockets. Give me exotic cars and exotic tracks, please. :D

Yes it is going to be on pc. It looks like it is going to be like NFS underground mixed in with NFS hot pursuit. It has super cars and tuners, you can even race them aganst each other. Got my info from www.needforspeed.com they even have vids you can watch.

i probly wouldnt drive a cobalt in the game anyways....front wheel drive.....does it have the sky, or redline? i find with the nfs games the 200sx is always the best starter car because of the drifting and all...the cobalt will honestly probably suck

Man I had every track on that game memorized! Being a GM guy, I prefered driving the ZR-1, but the Diablo, Supra, and Porsche were tons of fun too. By the way, I was running a 90mhz Pentium at the time.

I still have that game. The ZR-1 and the 512TR were my faves. I was running a 486 DX4100 at the time with a whopping 8MB RAM. The I upgraded to a Pentium 90 and it was even better. Great memories

also, if thats the SS S/C, i wonder if we'll be able to twin charge it...a turbo/ super charged mix would make it pretty sweet. i guess we'll just have to wait and see, huh...

Eh, High Stakes blew.. Porsche Unleashed was alright, removing the "Hot Pursuit" element really dragged it down though.

The original Need for Speed was awesome for it's time. NFS2 was great fun - I remember my friend and I used to play against eachother all the time over null modem :) NFS 3 was just amazing - running from the cops was great fun. NFS 4 (the aforementioned High Stakes) was a huge let down. The only fun tracks were the NFS3 ones, and the cars felt slow. NFS5 (Porsche Unleashed) was an intriguing concept, but linking it to one manufacturer, and (as I said above) not including the Hot Pursuit mode really hurt the product. NFS6 (Hot Pursuit 2) on the PC, Xbox and Gamecube sucked serious ass. But on the PS2, it was a great game. The non-PS2 ports felt (and looked!) as though the cars were floating. NFS Underground was a decent game, though I don't think it was deserving of the Need for Speed title (nor were those Rally games released way back when). NFS U2 was just crap though. All the shameless corporate tie-ins (hey look, there's a Best Buy on the corner, right across the road from Burger King! Oh wow, my Cingular pager is ringing!) really cheapened the game.

I have high hopes for NFS: Most Wanted. A return to the series' roots would be nice, but it sounds more like a collision of the classic NFS games and the NFS:U tuner games. It might work, time will tell. It pains me to say that at this point, it looks as though I'll be dishing EA more money, despite my immense hatred for the company.

Wouldn't it be cool to have a game in the vein of the original though? With the Road & Track tests, and the cool photo/video galleries?

Oh, I guess since nobody's mentioned it, official release date is November 16th, and there's going to be a special edition - "Need for Speed Most Wanted: Black" with some extra cars and whatnot. And you could always check out the site (http://www.needforspeed.com/).

I'm playing it right now on my Xbox. Well, the demo included with XBox Magazine. It's pretty sweet. Only lets you choose between an RX8 and a M3, but it's pretty cool so far. You have a time trial, a Sprint race, and a Drag race so far. After every race on the demo you have to outrun the cops for a period of time. I'm on the Drag. I can beat the Mustang, but it's hard to evade the cops when you've got 7 of them pinning you down. Oh well, I'm heading back to play some more! :cssNET:

::edit:: Oh yea, at the end of the races when you have to evade the cops, the whole are opens up for you, so you can go anywhere on the map!

Theres a demo out, I think with Xbox magazine. It's pretty sweet, only 3 courses, and 2 cars. A RX8 and an M3. There is also supposed to be something hidden, but i don't know how to get it.

Like mentioned before, there is a demo out now. I played it a month ago at a vendor show and they had the Cobalt SS playable. I wonder if that is the hidden item you were talking about.

I have to agree & disagree with PygmySurfer. I didn't start playing the NFS games until NFS3: Hot Pursuit. I loved it. Three things got changed from that game that have not returned. NFS3 had the best replay angles of any of this series. Also, the photo gallery no longer being used in the game. Lastly, the announcer describing each track.

The Underground series played to the trend of the time. In Underground 2, they at least added some domestics. The GTO in that game actually influenced my purchasing one. Before the flaming starts, one of my GTOs is full blown rice. It helps with points & "street cred". I have 5 others in the free race mode. Bone stock outside, pumped up under the hood. The relationship from game to reality is there. Just the game lies about some aspects. I can't wait for NFS: Most Wanted. Was just thinkin about that new game...for all the people who are buying the new NFS and do have XBL, we should all have a giant match online. Someone told me that they didnt think that the 360 online people couldnt play with the xbox poeple. I think thats bs cuz XBL is tied alltogetherand your game tag transfers over neway, so y wouldnt they be compatible?... just because the systems are different?.... Who would be interrested in doin this?

Need for Speed: Most Wanted is suppose to be out Nov. 17, 2005. From what I've heard its suppose to be a combination of the Underground series and original Need for Speed series. I'm gonna go out and get it Thursday for the PS2. Funny times ahead. :)

how much cutimization?
i played midnight club 3 dub and need for speed underground 2 and liked the nfs series just a little more bc the paint custimization was deeper. u could have like 3 or 4 layers of vinyl insted of one in dub edition.
i remeber all the different engine dress ups and trunk kits. how deep is the custimization in this game. if somebody gets there hands on it thurs let me n=know witth a pm plz. ill buy it regardless just so i can live out my fantasys on my cobalt SS.

I'm really surpised that they would put the cobalt in there and not the SRT4.

yeah i cant wait for this game either. ive been playing nfs games for years. hot pursuit 1 & 2, Underground 1 & 2, High Stakes, and porsche unleased :-D im sure this one will me my expectaions!!
