Black Carbon Fiber Exhaust... Silver Car

Im checking into doing a custom exhaust set up for my car and Im really considering doing a black carbon fiber muffler.. my car is silver but im going to be running black wheels and possibly a carbon fiber hood...

When I get my SS/SC I was going to get a custom exhaust with something similar, but in my opinion better looking. I would suggest against it. On the LS/LT models, canister style exhausts do not ever look good. Go with something with the stock look. Now, on the 2.4L and 2.0L, it would look alright, as long as it doesn't stick out too far.

Im going to be going with the rear lip from the SS/SC so the back will look the same as them with the canister style exhaust

Oh! Well, get yourself lowered, then I think you could get away with it. I would get the SS/SC rear first though.

The LS/LTs sit too high for me, but after that, you should be good.

Yeah, I have a 2.2L balt, it sits too high and the stockies are really small usually as well. I'm getting the GM lip kit for the balt. Are you just ordering the SS/SC rear lip? Or ordering the SS front bumper too?

Doors? What are you doing to your doors?

I havent decided on what im going to do with the front yet... I like the way mine is becuz its the LS set up with the lights but with the black inserts... im going black and silver so it helps .. so im thinking of just getting the entire lip kit... but im also looking at the G5 GT front fascia with the emblem removed and just putting a lip on that.

With the doors im looking at the Vertical Doors kit... ive checked with a few people here that have them and they havent had any issues with them.... I love the look so im shooting for that also..

Ah. Seems like your modding out the 2.2L. Good luck. Make sure you have the plan first, then execute.

you realize that for that to work you'll need the bumper from the ss/sc as well, right? it wont just go on your 2.2 bumper.

This is true. 7Thirty, you'd have to get the lip kit for a 2.2L one, or get the whole SS/SC front bumper.

How about you get some respect and realize people all don't like what you like. There is nothing wrong with a canister style exhaust, not everyone likes the stock looking one. It isn't at all rice, you just associate it with import cars that put gigantic ones on them. This one isn't big at all.

So look at yourself first, get yourself some respect, and stop calling everything that isn't what you like rice.

7Thirty, don't listen tot he haters. You do what you do with your car, as no one here is paying your bills. You have to be happy with it, because no matter what there will always be someone who doesn't like what you do. As long as you like it, go for it.

hey hey hey now. Some people, like me, just prefer what you refer to as a "fart can". I previously owned an '88 RX-7 convertible, oh which I had an Apex-i GT Spec cat-back on it, so i'm just into that look, and I wanted it to be no different with the 'balt. Mind you, I was planning on a Magnaflow against my better judgement when I first purchased the 'balt, but then once I caught wind of the ARK N2 (I was actually browsing ARK's website looking at the Tiburon exhausts for my girlfriends car), I was sold. I picked up the phone, talked to an ARK rep, and became #1 on the pre-order list.......2nd balt to sport the N2, only behind the test fitter, which is a silver SS/SC, girl driven......shes on this forum somewhere.

Anywho, i've got nothing but good comments on it from friends, fellow SS owners around town, etc etc. My friends with Focus's ('05 and an '07) envy me, b/c they don't have that option and were forced to get oval mufflers with big tips for their Foci. My roomate has an Agency Power titanium cat-back on his '06 STI, and he even agrees that my ARK N2 looks just as sexy and suites my car just as much as his exhaust does his. I love the angled canister.........just looks so sick from behind and mad aggressive. But if you want your basically stock looking cat-back, i.e: magnaflow, GMPP, Corsa, etc etc, then so be it. But don't hate on people like me who have canisters. Like I said, i've always used canister style exhausts and have just gained appreciation for the style of them from using them.

So don't hate, appreciate.

But as far as the CF muffler, im not diggin the fake-o CF "wrap" crap........but I guess the muffler would look good, but not if it came straight out.

Thank ya.

I'll stick up for the 2.4 haters that call the 2.4 a "fake SS", and i'll stick up for "fart can".....proper name, "canister style", exhausts, as they aren't "rice", b/c Neons, Cavys, 1st gen Focus's, etc have been using them for years now. Just b/c the Jap cars were using them first dosen't mean the domestics, and somtimes even Euros, can adapt to such a style and use it to implement a personalized style on such a car.

When people here say 'rice' they're usually talking about "rice" in which it means, a badly done/badly modified car. Read here:
