I haven't yet heard what the car style was.....Only that it was a Cobalt and the driver was 22 years old and nothing about the passanger but that both are dead.

That was my biggest worry when my supervisor told me about it this morning...regardless though just something you really don't like to hear about, especially when they were only 22 years old . This really puts a damper on your day.

That is a major damper. I'll be praying for their families. And for them.

shitty shitty shitty the way life some times.
very sad.
we must all be very safe on the road, and always check your mirrors and blindspots.

as for the car it's not an SS because the silver is offered on Canada yet. not that it makes a difference.

wish i knew who it was

I don't think we'll know who it was until 6:00pm news. I noticed that it looked silver/white too but it could be that it was so badly burned up that there's no trace of any paint on it anymore and the car is just completly gone. feel sorry for the families involved.

That's one thing I've noticed with the coupes...mine seems to have a larger-than-normal blindspot. I always have to double check to make sure there's no one there before I change lanes.

That's a real shame about the accident, what a real downer

My prayers go out to the family's involved. I just lost a friend in a car accident, its horrible. Please everyone, BE careful, remember when you are driving, it could be your last time!

Who cares what kind of cobalt it is, the car doesn't matter, it could have been a Ferrari and I still woudlnt give a ****.

What a horrific way to go out, can you imagine sitting in the car, melting? WOW Makes me shed tears just thinking about it.

If any of you know who it is, please give our condolences to the family.

This is about 5 minutes from my house, I was actually driving that stretch of highway at 12:30 last night (coming from the gf's in Mississauga to Markham). I past a white 4 door cobalt on my way home, but I am pretty sure there was only one guy in the car.

So sad.

I think when it comes down to it......the driver, being from Quebec may not have been familiar with this highway. Driving east to west through the city the highway opens up to produce a massive 12 lane express/collector system. If you were driving in the fast lane and entered the system you have to constantly decided whether to go into the express or stay in the collectors. This means you have to contantly change lanes just to be in the fast lane in the collectors. At 12:30 am the traffic moves fast......about 120km/h just to be in the fast lane.....Rarely do you get a ticket for doing 20 over the speed limit here(believe it or not) so that and the fact that he is driving a new car with a big blind spot on a fast highway he doesn't know early in the morning is dangerous at best. We all love our cars but always keep in mind that automobile accidents are the number 1 cause of death for young people statistically speaking.

Again, my thoughts go out to the driver and passanger and relatives of them and also to the truck driver who will never ever forget what happened.....he will not sleep well for a long time.

MikeSS.....I'd have goose bumps on my arms with that story.

Peace
