True, true, but it just makes you wonder who really does the work your paying for. I guess in the long run, the ONLY way you know the work is getting done is to do it your self.....

Wow, that's some shady ass ****, guess that's why you should do as much of your own work as you can, and have a good mechanic! My buddy has a nice olds aurora, fully loaded, took it to walmart for an oil change, they crushed one of his brake lines, he lost his brakes like 2 mi. down the road. Somehow he didn't hit anything. Shady bastards and fukin retards, and lots of em!

I hope my dealership isn't pulling some **** like that. I don't think they would do that though, just means more unpaid-warranty work for them. lol All they do is try to overcharge me. (doesn't happen though)

if you take your car to jiffy lube, walmart, or any of those half ass lube shops, you're just asking for something bad to happen to your car. i cant tell you how many cars i see that come in with locked up engines due to a jiffy lube or walmart oil change. i've even seen a few come in knocking because they dont put the right filters in ecotec's

ok, that video is super old...

but, anyone on here should change their own oil... what the hell kind of car enthusiast can't change their own oil? it's not hard, doesn't take much time, and doesn't require special tools... there's NO good reason why everyone can't do their own oil...

Wow, that was a good post, thank you for that. (Rep +1).

This is why millions of people get screwed over all the time, because they keep trying to sell people stuff and people don't know what their car needs. The cadillac dealership kept trying to get my mom to get a transmission fluid flush, and a steering column fluid flush and brake fluid flush. They even brought out fabricated charts and making up bullshit on how she needed it on her 2003 Cadillac DTS with only 30,XXX miles on it. And she was calling me and my dad trying to tell us that they said she needed it, when we told her that theyw ere trying to milk her for all she is worth, and she still got it, then realzied she wasted her money....

maybe its not the fact that you cant change your own oil maybe you just dont want too.... I mean come on, oil is not a disposable item you have to get rid of it somehow and im not sure of where to get rid of it for one and i dont feel like jacking my car up at the house and doing my own oil when its honestly not that expensive

jiffy lube sucks, When i first got my balt, i took it their for a oil change, cause i used to take my cavialer there, and i the service guy was like ya if you want us to change your oil for you it's gonna be a bit more, and i was like what you mean a bit more do i need different type oil or something, and he was like no the thing is we have to do more work to your car we gotta remove your intake and possible your supercharger to get to the filter itll be a prob, so i said, well how much of a problem, and he started acting like he wasn't sure if he was gonna be that comfortable doing the job, so i told him to just give me my car. i had my friend change it for me since he's a mechanic at ford, my friends was like their lazy i'll do it just just need an extension, needless to say i'll never go there again
