Lookin into a Colbalt

Ok, first I would like to introduce myself as a new member here on ColbaltSS.

So ive been in the market for a new car to get later in the summer, and the options are getting narrowed down more and more as time is going on. Im looking into an SS s/c COlbalt, but, naturally I have questions.

First - comfort. This car is gonna need to be comfortable for 6 hr drives when im heading between home and school. How is it on long drives? I can look at EPA standards, and listen to salesmen all day, but I would like to know from the owners.

Second - relibility. How does this car stand up when being compared to other cars in its class, like a tC or Civic SI (two other cars that im looking at). How many miles do some of you guys have, and what have you been doing to keep it running?

Third - Aftermarket. I know how to do some things myself, and also some good companies to get stuff from, but what all do you guys all recommend. Pullies for the s/c, suspension parts, brakes, rims, yada yada.

Basically, in the words of Johnny 5 from Short Circuit, "I NEED INPUT". Thanks in advance.

Since I've got a 2.2, I can't speak much to performance of the 2.0, but I can say that the Cobalt is an extremely comfortable car. It's got plenty of room even for a 6'6 285 pound guy like myself and I've taken lots of road trips where I've spent about 4-7 hours on the road and it's great.

Besides the motor needed syn. oil, how often does the s/c oil need to be changed?

You aren't *supposed* to change it unless you do an aftermarket modification that requires you to.

That won't require you to change the s/c oil. If you have the s/c ported and polished for example, you'll have to change the oil.
